Can't really blame the AFL for this one, well not in the way you are talking.

The VFA was a dead duck as soon as the AFL started playing Sunday games, probably on the way out before that in reality.

The VFA was no competition and many of the clubs were insolvent. If anything the AFL/VFL have helped keep a few of the old clubs like Port & Willy alive, but really it's only a matter of time before they fold or move into some local competition...

The AFL didn’t need to play on Sundays.

But they did it any way..

Dug the handball off the ground to Bailey for the winning goal in the only premiership I've witnessed (aside from plenty of other clubs ?) In 87 vs Eseendrug.

We also won the night flag in 1989 by beating Geelong in the final.

I am talking VFA days when the Mighty Zebras were a proud club in their own right

The AFL had no right to kill off the VFA, but they did it any way

And their doing their best to kill off country footy as well

Knowledgeable 'Landers . . .

Who wins this?

Sandringham are two spots below us on the ladder with one less win.

It is a proverbial toss up

With Preuss and Weideman playing we might win. No wind should make for a good game.

Spargo, Hannan and Maynard all out, not sure why the reasons given none were mentioned in any injury reports, but could they have been given the same treatment as OMac and sent away for special fitness training? Both Hannan and Spargo have looked to lose a bit of their spark from last year so maybe their trying to find that before the seasons done so they can work on hitting the preseason at full tilt?

Hannan has hardly played this year with injuries. Not going suddenly find form.

8 inside 50's for no score.. sounds familiar

Have not heard Weideman called.. is he playing?

Got a likely concussion in the first 30 seconds of the game. Classic MFC 2019.

JKH been in everything. Bedford looking good with pressure. We miss Maynard. Haven’t seen Melksham but is named.

Oh it’s so bad. They might beat the 84 points off turnovers from last night.

disappointing quarter by casey

after dominating the first 15 minutes for no score the two teams swapped goals until Zebras dominated kicking 3 goals in time on

Zebras by 18

JKH and Stretch getting lots of ball but not damaging at all

We are currently being pantsed by a team on a 6 match losing streak

Sound familiar?

So Bedford gets a free about 35 out, directly in front of goals.

What do you think the result is?

Yep.

Its a cancer on this club

Weids out of the match with concussion.

2019 can GAGF.

FMD , you couldn’t script this [censored]!

Casey enter 50 and get repelled, enter again and get repelled, enter again and get repelled

Sandy enter once and goal from a nice pass to a player on a lead.

Sandy 9 scores from-14 entries

Casey 7 scores from-21 entries

What the [censored] has happened to our entire club?

Currently 6.3 to 3.4 their way

Negatives - just everything.

Positives - Dunkley looking good? Hore will be back next week. Pruess has responded well. JKH still gets the ball. Beford can lay a good tackle.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
