Do you know any assistant coaches to ask if they would have second thoughts on working under Goodwin?

Two of the Bulldogs assistants who are good friends of my daughter and son in law told me during 2016 that the MFC would perform better under Goodwin than Roos and their opinion has not changed, so I will take their opinion of Goodwin over anyone that posts on this site.

I can tell you that a current assistant compared Goodwin to a premiership coach he’d worked under, and said he’d never experienced an environment as good as the dees, and would not want to work anywhere else. The premiership coach he’d worked with would often not even acknowledge him when passing in a tight corridor and no one else around.

I’d say there’s more good than bad (regarding Goodwin & the club) in those comments. I don’t see where treating people like [censored] leads to success.

Id love it. he needs experience around him.

Yes I think RIchardson would be a good fit for us. AN Excellent Development Coach . Must keep Rowlads though .

Blake Carracella who has been Richmond's offensive coach is parting ways at the end of the year.

We Must Get!!

I'll keep saying the same every year until I run out of breath: Nathan Basset.

Port defensive coach. Joined in 2016.

Since 2017, Port have had the second-least points against (2017), the third-least points against while finishing 10th in 2018, and currently sit within two goals of third-best defensive standings for 2019 while in 9th place.

Also: Basset coached Norwood to back-to-back flags from nowhere in 2010 - before joining Craig and Goodie at Essendon in 2014 - and spent the bulk of his 200-game career alongside Simon Goodwin, earning All Oz honours next to Goodie in 2006.

A usually good source has surprisingly told me Jennings will look to move on end of season.

Tom Browne reporting tonight that MFC may look to move Jennings on.

Yep saw that. Was known as the tactical genius last year, but looks like he has been exposed unfortunately.

Good mail

Not yet, will wait til confirmed, Browne could have got it from here for all we know! haha

Looks like the board is putting all their eggs into the Goodwin basket, hoping that their ludicrous contract extension prior to starting the year pays dividends.

It's gonna get a whole lot uglier if it doesn't.

@Demon3 as per your post in the Jennings thread, I chucked some ideas up in the OP here if you're interested.

Thanks LN, appreciate it, will have a read now.

Do clubs have goal kicking coaches any more? Or does that come under forward line coach?

I like the idea of Bolton as development coach. Despite his lack of success at the Blues, he has an excellent football brain influenced by Clarko

Not sure how many exactly, but yeah I know of a few that have goal kicking coaches. It's generally only a part-time role though.

A person of interest for the club should be Daniel Giansiracusa. Has been coaching his own side, is a great communicator, great culture fit, Level 4 coach, premiership assistant. Should be o the radar for us as a club.

Melbourne is the latest club to register its interest in retiring Hawthorn forward Jarryd Roughead.

The Demons have already begun their football department shake-up which will include more than 10 position changes across key pillars at AAMI Park.

And although St Kilda and to a lesser extent Gold Coast remain in the hunt to lure the four-time premiership star, foxfooty.com.au understands Melbourne has a role for Roughead if he wants it.

So its all pretty quiet on this front and while i understand that we may not know whats happening on the inside, the silence really is deafening..

Does anyone have any update on who might be an option.. as i understand it this i our panel as we stand:

Goodwin, Richardson, Matthews, Chaplin, Plapp, Egan (Development) Rooke (Development)

IN: Richardson

Out: Macca, Rawlings, Jennings

SO at least 2 names to replace a couple really senior figures, assuming we say Richo straight swap for Macca, leaves us having to fill the Jennings and Rawlings position. Gosh i really hope they are experienced, well respected coaches.

Yze chat has gone very quiet, with Bolton landing back at the hawks, does that squeeze someone out there?

I know patience is a virtue, but it is really quiet on the coaching front.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
