I think we stick with Weid, was ok considering the quality of ball coming forward and lack of assistance with Petracca being the only other forward who looked like they could play. ...but please drop Tommy back to Casey. He's giving us nothing. Pruess can take his place. 3 Quote
Tony Tea 2,816 Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Second half. 4.10 to 9 straight. And why? Because we don't have the forward craft to execute a full press and then score, whilr Collingwood bust us open for sitters. Quote

You can call it what you like, but I, like the club will not panic when things go pear shaped, that is for the weak kneed to do. I am also certain they will look at every option to improve the the forward line and the entry into it by the midfield. Edited June 10, 2019 by drysdale demon more information Quote

A few posted in the Casey thread thay he looked spent during the 3rd quarter. This seems to happen every game he plays. Remember he's only 23 and played no Aussie rules until he was 17, so he's still learning. However, Tmac looks so out of form that Preuss to 3/4 time is certainly looking like an attractive option. You have my vote Stormy Quote

By the way, as the Titanic was sinking there probably wouldn't have been a much better place than singing at the bar and having last drinks. 1 hour ago, Stormy Dee said: How about Preuss? I think we need to set Weid up as our key and use Pruess to crash and bash with Tommy heading back to Casey. We're top heavy with the 3 and Tommy's form doesn't warrant a game. If we get Weid one on one and put the ball to advantage then he is going to get his fair share. Quote
Adam The God 30,747 Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 We should take best available in the draft. If that's a midfielder, great. Improve the system and as Collingwood have shown, ordinary players can become role players and wins eventually come. We'll also have a softer draw next year. If we get a new system working, we could jump straight back up. 1 Quote
Matsuo Basho 1,053 Posted June 22, 2019 Author Posted June 22, 2019 Gary Pert being interviewed on SEN crunch time right now. Was asked my Kane Cornes about list issues and problem areas at Melbourne. Pert immediately said the obvious one and the area of greatest priority is the forward line and our inability to hit the scoreboard. Make no mistake - we will be head hunting a key forward this October if we haven’t already tapped someone up. 1 Quote

I liked what he had to say OD. He’s going to hold people to account for their performance from top to bottom. He’s fully aware of the problems. Quote

Matsuo Basho 1,053 Posted June 30, 2019 Author Posted June 30, 2019 Who are we going to get? Let's keep this discussion going. We don't have a choice from where I sit. All options, trades and picks on the table. Cheque book out $$$. Cannot go into 2020 with the current forward set up. Must not. 1 Quote
Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 We must look to trade Weideman. 1 Quote
Thehardtackler 785 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I think that we should keep Weideman. Try May forward. At least he has the big ego of a power forward. We need Weid and one other big target to have a West Coast style forward line. 1 Quote
Thehardtackler 785 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 May could be the next Mitch Clark, without the depression and injuries. Quote
drdrake 3,203 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Key forwards, our entire forward line needs addressing. Our small/medium size forwards offer nothing no defensive pressure limited skills. I would hate to be a key forward in our team, we bomb to the same spot and three of your team mates compete for the same make with no crumbing forwards at your feat. Then when you offer a good lead the incoming kick misses you. 2 Quote

Mel Bourne 4,541 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Tom MacDonald is a neocon who goes to Jordan Peterson conferences and does podcasts with the Institute Of Public Affairs. This is something I was willing to overlook when he was a half-decent footy player, but I can’t actually stand looking at the guy now that he sucks harder than a flagship-model Hoover. 5 1 Quote
