Viney & Intermittent Fasting

I'm pretty sure the fact he spent most of the pre-season on crutches and in the rehab group is more a factor on his form than his "fad" diet.

The human body isn't designed to have 3 meals every day. Just like if you exercise the same muscles the same way every day you wont get the proper benefit for it. You need to mix up your diet as well. There is also clear measurable benefits from fasting particularly with your blood cells.

I'm glad you are speaking with certainty on this 'Wrecker'...

The more we know, the less we know.

The rest of the side is suffering intermittent fisting

Regularly eating fish n chips never stopped me from a high performance output. Some of my best games for Ashburton were after a big feed from the High Street chippers.

I call it an afternoon snack and a big dinner 2-3 hours later with Coffee and tea (no milk) all morning and early afternoon. Most people do it on a busy day.

I think you’ll find it was originally pushed by the clubs dietician/nutriotionist for the whole playing group, and then Viney decided he had noticed the benefits to the point that he continued doing it off his own bat, with their consultation.

Any concerns would be coming from a position of ignorance.

I love how you talk about 'ignorance' but open with, "I think you'll find..." and your assumption quite specific, but completely wrong. Not a big clip, just funny.

He got onto fasting from speaking with Cooper Cronk, he consulted the club nutritionists and they ok'd it but said to monitor the situation. It isn't something that has been pushed by the club.

I fast myself, regularly, and it has amazing benefits if done correctly. One of the issues Viney has admitted is the unknown about gameday, and from a preseason interview said he would have to see how it went on game day.

Clearly this thread needs a poll. What would you prefer. That the word is spelt "dietitian" or "dietician"?

In some dictionaries, both are acceptable but I prefer the former (and I notice that the software that runs Demonland does, too.)

According to Kevin Bartlett you should have fish and chips the night before a game and a refreshing pot of tea!

Normal in this day and age perhaps, I think you will find science is starting to prove it isn't good for you.

Can you describe what a square meal is Legion, and do three of them relate to Legendre's three-square theorem and the fact that Viney's number 7 is the first that cannot be expressed as the sum of three squares ? Does a square meal include spuds?

i try to avoid discussions on religion, politics and diets, but i'll stick to belle gibson's "the whole pantry" app diet

If anything this diet should make Viney even more savage a beast. My wife tried putting me on it. I went from suicidal, to homicidal and was progressing towards genocidal before calling time on the approach.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
