Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows whereabouts at the SCG I should buy tickets if I wanted to be near the Melbourne cheersquad? Which end do they sit up?

Thanks!

It's seems a long time since we played at the SCG. I'm going and wanted some advice about best

seating for Melbourne supporters. Will general admission do it for me? Went there a long time

ago and had a great time Fantastic atmosphere especially if we win.

If you have an interstate membership, then tickets are free.  I just ordered mine by following the link in an MFC email and they are, as mentioned above, in Bay 2... so I assume this means most Dees supporters will be in that area.

Woohoo - been so long since I’ve caught a Dees game at the SCG.  Just up the road for me....   Getting my complimentary (interstate member) tickets as soon I know who else in my family is coming.

Otherwise if I go to a swans game I go to the alcohol free zone which is a smallish section - then you don’t get peeps squeezing past every 5 minutes to get beers.

My last game at the SCG saw us get pummeled on what was a very very wet turf..

lets hope we can turn that around this time!

I assume you mean you reside in NSW !

I'm heading up also... Looking at tickets at the moment. I prefer to sit up higher so looking at category 2 or 3 in & around the 310-312 bays. $71 for a category 2 ticket does seem a bit steep

Sydney prices - usually costs this much for a ticket to the SCG

When’s the last time we even beat Sydney seems a lifetime ago? Wasn’t back when Bails was coaching and we smashed them by 70 was it: I remember that one don’t remember beating them since....

Yep, 2010. Incredible day at the G back when we could dispatch any non-Vic side at the G by 10 plus goals before copping a loss of a simliar magnitude ourselves the next week.

Closest we've come since then was a draw in 2011.

We're way overdue.

I guess I will be entitled to a ticket as an interstate member. If anyone wants it, (subject to me confirming I can get one) PM me and I'm happy to pass it on. I have a reserved seat there.

And so many times since they've beaten us in scrappy wet games at the G holding us to 5-6 goals, frustrating! About time to get a couple back

Last time I was there Brad Miller played his best game for the club on Hall and Cam Bruce slotted the winning goal. Great to catch up with the cheer squad at Bass Hill caravan park too!

Know wonder, footy in Sydney struggles for attendances.   Rugby League etc.  Who can afford that, week on week ?

I can’t remember when we last won at the SCG. I’m thinking it could be as far back as the 90s. Anyone know? It’s been a hell hole for us for quite a while now.

In particular, I recall flying back from Hong Kong especially to watch a game at the SCG in about 2010, to sit with all of my Swans supporting mates and watch us get belted by around 100 points.

Round 5, 2003, was also memorable. We were up by about 50 points at three quarter time, and my mate was started singing out ‘percentage’ every time Neita kicked a goal, which was super obnoxious behaviour given we were sitting in the Swans’ members section. We eventually lost that game by about 2 goals. Another sweet experience at the ground for me.

A few years ago, when it was literally pouring, we kicked about 5 goals all day. Only highlights were Christian Petracca and the final siren.

I’m feeling positive year though. Time to break this hoodoo.

We most recently won at the SCG v Swans in R5 2005 and R4 2006.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
