Great memories, was there behind the goals with my niece, it was her first game live I think. What a game!

Last game before I headed off to London for a year, my profile pic is from said game. I was with a Collingwood mate and Saints lass who were heaping it on us.... I really enjoyed the outcome!!!

Wonna, Jimmy with Wonna old man, kick on the ground after the game. Fantastic day.

We had some decent players in that line up. Poor to only win 3 games that year.

Was living in Fremantle for this match- was a great day!  That, and the win against the Lions were epic!

I was there with the Mrs and kids. At half time I wanted to go home (yeah, I know - soft!), but the kids made me stay because it was one of the first games when they allowed kick-to-kick on the G after the game and they wanted to do that.

So glad we stayed, it was an unbelievable comeback!

Great memory and 30 minutes well spent watching the last quarter again, made even better when they panned to poor old Harvey in the Freo box late in the last and there’s one of the Scott brothers staring blankly.

"Melbourne in the first half were like one of those nervous African dictators. They always took a different route home. Now they're kicking goals."

What a gem from DC.

Always loved watching Wonaeamirri play.  Such a tallent, it's a pitty he didn't have a longer career with us.

Don't know if he's still playing for the NT Thunder in the NEAFL or not, but saw him playing against Southport a few years back before a demolition job we did later on the Suns.  Bought back fond memories.

Still plays up north, and my word he has been in a good paddock.

Went to that game and sat behind the goals with a Pies supporting mate (really it’s his only personality fault).

When Wonna kicked that goal we were both up out of our seat cheering like madmen - that’s how electrifying that moment was.

That game was a moment of light in some dark times.

My father, a 70 year Melbourne supporter, was supposed to have a table in the dining room with his mates that day. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly and our family and his friends ended up with a couple of extra tables having a fairly emotional lunch.

At half time there were a number of black humour comments that he was ‘lucky’ that he wasn’t around to watch just how crap Melbourne were. And then the tide turned. What a roller coaster it was and, of course, we all thought they were playing for Dad and he was helping from above.

Then we were able to have a kick on the G after the game and quietly spread half his ashes on the ground, CHF scoreboard end.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
