Heh, I was amazed to find common interests beyond the Dees too.

Because there is presumably a long lead time on these deals and it's disappointing that we are often the only club not to have a BOJ sponsor sorted by Round 1. Not this year, which is great.

Your view assumes that the club has struggled to find a BOJ sponsor. While that might be true the alternative view might be that Jaguar and potentially other sponsors struggled to meet the club's demands. In other words, the delay might have been because the club was in a strong position and didn't want to sell off the BOJ sponsorship rights at too low a price.

Of course. But nevertheless, it was a bad look. I'm glad we've sorted it prior to Round 1.

We'll have to disagree. I'm of the view that no-one (OK, virtually no-one) cares. If we were still hunting for a BOJ sponsor after the beginning of the season, that would arguably be a bad look.

Agreed.

Getting Jaguar on the Back of the Jumper is superb

Don’t really care how long it took to finally sign the documents. It’s February, the right time to make these things happen.

Jaguar alongside an auto-insurer hehe.

Combining car companies and insurance seem to be  a thing with AFL clubs:

Richmond had Jeep and Bingle

Swans had Volkswagen and QBE

Collingwood had Holden & CGU

And then there is the teams with long term car deals like Ford/Geelong, Crows/Toyota, North/Mazda, Port/Renault and so on.

Can’t recall Saints or Footscray ever having a car sponsor - not long term anyway.

I’m sure there are many others that I’m forgetting.

Even our sponsors are getting into the swing of things! The value-add of being associated with MFC just goes up and up.

(PS she looks like a Collingwood supporter)

Is this actual footage of the May v Berry incident? Explains the medium impact assessment.

Jag is one of the few luxury brands that increased sales last year, when the likes of MB, Audi and BMW are falling they must be doing something right.

It's obvious to me that they are a well-managed organisation. It's no coincidence that sales are increasing under a management regime which chooses to sponsor the MFC.

The above can be read flippantly...or it can be appreciated that the sales increase might reflect the possibility that the Australian organisation has a well-developed strategic plan which includes sponsoring a team that (1) plays in the most popular competition in Australia, (2) has a support base which may have a higher proportion (than other clubs) of those who are well enough off to buy their cars and (3) is a club that has a standing which suits the Jaguar brand.

Serves us right for signing this mob up to a sponsorship! The marketers talk about 'synergies' between the parties . . . well Jaguar's reliability and Melbourne's game plan are totally synergistic.
