• The news that Dayne Beams wishes to return to Victoria and play for Collingwood dominated today on NAB AFL Trade Radio. While he has not yet requested a trade, Beams would like to get back to the Magpies if a trade can be worked out.

• Collingwood still has some waiting to do with defender Tom Langdon, who is yet to recommit to the club. Sydney and Fremantle are going hard at the 24-year-old, and that in turn is delaying Dan Hannebery’s wish to be traded to be St Kilda. Many felt that trade was set to happen today, but Saints fans should still be confident in the deal getting done.

• Port Adelaide traded into the top 10 of the draft as part of their likely bid to land the best South Australian talent in the country. They handed over picks 11, 23 and 30 to Fremantle to get their hands on pick six. The Dockers will likely use these selections to help pick up Rory Lobb and potentially Jesse Hogan.

• Fremantle appear to be out of the running for Dees spearhead Jesse Hogan. Their football operations manager stated late today that the club will be ceasing their pursuit of the dynamic tall forward because, "what Melbourne would be seeking for a trade would not be possible for our club to meet." (In other words, the Demons refused to consider their shake down deal).

• This could change the landscape of the NAB AFL Trade Period, with Melbourne potentially now out of the race for Steven May.

• Tom Scully has announced that he wishes to be traded from the Giants to Hawthorn and has completed a medical with the Hawks.

• When it came to deals done, Dean Kent made his way to St Kilda, and Dom Tyson and Braydon Preuss completed a straight swap.

• The Blues landed another ex-Giant, with Will Setterfield heading to Carlton (along with pick 71) in exchange for pick 43 and a 2019 second round pick.

• Premiership Swan Dan Hannebery joined the Saints on a five-year deal, with St Kilda trading pick 39 and its future second-round pick in return for Hannebery and pick 28. 

• Two days remain in the AFL trade period and a few dominos still need to fall before the Wednesday night deadline.

• The likes of Lachie Neale, Jesse Hogan, Steven May, Tom Scully, Dylan Shiel and Dayne Beams are all contracted players yet to land at their clubs of choice.

Basically club wanted to improve 3 areas while imrpoving draft hand and did so at the expense of Hogan and Tyson. May and Hogan's impact at each others club will be highlighted all year. The one thing we need is Kade and Preuss to level up and ease the burden. Also 23 and 28 can get us some cracking players in the draft to replace Tyson and Kent.
