p.s  if it's not too much trouble I'd love a gif of Brayshaws mark and goal at the cheer squad end, followed by the crowd shot of the woman waving her scarf and balling her eyes out. Loved that moment

Please, is it possible to make these non auto-play ???   just appearing in static image, until clicked on?

It effects those in remote areas, with slow internet speeds.  And makes the PC slow to load other pages.

There are 10 gifs playing, on one open tab page... slowing the graphics.

lol.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Pray let it be a Melbourne-Collingwood  Grand Final. At least we get the opportunity for revenge for the 1958 Grand Final when they prevented us from winning a record six consecutive Premierships (viz. 1955, 1956, 1957, xxxx, 1959 &1960)!

To beat Collingwood by a point with a Sam Weideman goal kicked after the siren would be a wonderful sight (especially if the cameras were all trained on Eddie McGuire)! ?

Ok dumb question... how do you get the video in the first place? Do you download the entire game from somewhere, or record it digitally somehow?  My game replay is sitting in the IQ but I've no idea how I'd capture that in a video file.

Yea i have it digitally. Bigfooty melbourne board has a replay archive as an easy way to download the game or im sure it will be on YouTube at some stage.

stopping a gif auto playing does not affect your internet bandwidth

gifs are downloaded in full whether auto played or not

Well it might be slowing the computer when 10 gifs are rolling on one page at the same time?  or something else is?

Can I stop these from auto rolling within my PC ?

I would prefer to just click on them, to watch it once?   rather than a page full, all going like carnival lights.

impact on cpu for a gif is negligible.......move on

Just watch every Melbourne player's reaction on that bench. It's a work of art.

JONES: "I can't even believe how good these kids are."
SALEM: "Yass! Wait, don't draw attention to yourself Christian. Keep it cool."
WIEDEMAN: "Eh…it was all right. Better kick it but."
SPARGO: "Lemme at em. Lemme at em. Oh I probably shouldn't run on the field though or they'll wipe our score. Probably just sit down."

funny stuff.  i remember thinking the other night similar things.  They look like us.  Fans.  brilliant.

thanks DC. I just did.

I went to look for answers.?

And found these instructions, to sort the background Gifs from auto-playing...

https://au.pcmag.com/browsers-reviews-and/48436/feature/how-to-stop-gifs-from-auto-playing-in-your-browser

It was simple.  cheers.

but.....stopping them is not going to solve your perceived problems. .i.e. bandwidth and cpu impact

i find it ironic that someone who likes visually polluting their posts with strange use of caps, highlighting, mixed fonts, spacing, font size, colour changes and myriad other visual desecrations is upset at auto-playing gifs

but each to their own. if stopping your gifs playing makes you happy then great

Big Nevvie Jetta has recorded the 2 biggest hits of the finals series and both of key men of the opposition team, in Duckwood and whimpchell.

Full credit to our resident @david_neitz_is_my_dad  GIFmaster for that one.

First request -  Petracca laughing at James Sicily after he was outmarked by Melksham in the last quarter.

Wow. Have a look at Bruest trying to stop Viney with a kicking motion. That is dangerous and should be outlawed. Has the potential to break legs. I am glad he has the worst two finals in living memory (well maybe not as bad as 'neon Leon'

I not bothered by one Gif, but about a whole column of Gifs, all auto-running at the same time.

But that's all fixed now, thanks daisy.

And I got the news programs background  advertising auto-run Gifs as well,,, with the same hit.

Its only desecration to the boring, and the bored, DC.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
