Good summary by Roos.  Always makes sense.

The table showing top 8 vs top 8 wins/losses is enlightening.  We are 0 wins.4 losses.

The worst record is Collingwood: 6 losses 1 win.  Sydney not much better with 5 losses and 2 wins.

The media aren't talking of them as down hill skiers.  Sydney I can understand as they have the runs on the board.  But talking the Pies up when they have done worse than us.  Sheesh!!

Edit:  Delete references to Sydney - thank you to 'General Malaise' post below

Other way around. It's 5 wins, 2 losses.

It's hard not to get excited when you hear Roosey talking us up. You now he wouldn't do it if he didnt really believe it and who would know better?

The top analysis is rubbish, the 8 changes each week.  make it a contender list of top 11 teams and we've done alright

Roos understands the evolution of the team.

Many posting on the Goodwin thread would do well to heed his views.

Naturally, they won't/can't.

Occasionally, negativity gets confused with being world weary yet wise.

That isn't necessarily the case. Of course your observations should be backed up by facts but these can be selectively applied as most things in life are ambiguous. There is a tendency with some to overstate the negative while totally ignoring the upside.

Roosy has been a great judge of this team's success by being realistic when we are down (as opposed to just plain negative) and positive when genuine improvement has been there. There have been few times where his judgement about us has been completely off the mark.

That's because the media is too busy talking up Collingwood as potential premiers. Even when the Pies lose, they win.

Pies winning sells more papers.
And they have convincingly beaten us in our last 2 meetings.
Having said that the collingwood supporters I know think they're cooked.

The Pies supporters I know are worse than MFCSS.

The funny thing is (and the line that will be trotted out), if we beat the Swannies this week, we still wouldn’t have beaten a team in the top 8 - as they will have dropped out!

we'd have beaten them when they were in the top 8. that is how the stat is calculated.

Nope, Ben's right.

We beat North Melbourne and Adelaide (first time) when they were both in the 8. It is calculated on the top 8 as it stands right now. Indeed, the wins against those two are the reason they aren't in the 8. (The less said about the Cats the better).

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
