We've got TMac and Hogan in the team and Oliver starts the game at FF? Sometimes its better to start off positionally, to see the oppositions strategy, prior to a typical starting setup. The Cows got off to a flier, but it showed we started to steady & build momentum, around the 20 minute mark of the 1st Qtr. We can sometimes throw-off planned tactics and tags, this way... It also exposes others in our lineup to more responsibility in the middle. nothing is wasted. all is an investment. 3 hours ago, jackaub said: I couldn't believe the set up. Does Goodwin bet against us on the QT? Took him 10 minutes to fix it. Would love an explaination maybe I am missing something What if we start as expected in a Final, and our stars get checked closely. And we get smashed for 2 Qtrs, where, do we go from that point? The game could be over by halftime. We're learning to fight back from adversity, with what is happening,,,, even IF its a self imposed early sanction. . 38 minutes ago, Lucifer's Hero said: Goodwin has made a habit of surprise player positioning at the start of games eg starting TMac in the middle usually to our detriment...without checking I think we have rarely won the first quarter when that happens. So, I don't like his attempts to confuse the opp coaches. But to give him the benefit of the doubt with Oliver at FF, I wonder if that was to give him a chance to 'warm up' after his quad tightness during the week. Just a thought. As an aside, we certainly need to fix our slow starts as playing catch-up is a fraught with danger! Putting players in best positions would be a good start. fraught with danger.... but it exposes us to have to show resilience.... practice almost. nothing is wasted. Quote

Philthy 284 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Just another junk article by the media. I will dare to dream if/when we play our first final. 1 Quote

monoccular 17,760 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 The players have apparently sworn off alcohol ...... hopefully they will swear off reading newspapers or listening to any media, and hide all bath plugs until their Premiership celebrations begin. 1 Quote
H_T 3,049 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 There’s a lot of noise. I’m hoping they block it out and generate more wins by just following the processes and knowing their roles. That is all they can control. 1 Quote
Adzman 2,154 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Pig and Captain Jack are nice additions in the lead up to finals. If Hunt can build some form we do have some options to strengthen the lineup. I'm not getting ahead of myself, but we could be a sleeper if we make the top 8. 3 Quote
PaulRB 6,435 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 The last two weeks have been “finals like”, intense high stakes games in the opposition’s ground. We lost one, learnt and won the next. Now have a two weeks of games we should win to ensure we’re in the finals (13 wins + %). Then the final two rounds will again be finals like with us and our opposition looking to cement a top four spot. Couldnt ask for a better preparation, and if we end the season in the top 4, we’re a legitimate chance. But as we all know, first, beat the Suns... ? 3 Quote
