seems a bit weak given he was found guilty of intentionally striking, not careless striking.

5 weeks, not enough IMO.

It was never about applying an appropriate penalty but all about going through hoops minimising his suspension.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a similar score line tomorrow night at quarter time

The work and effects of the umpires will be interesting in the Weegals and Essendrug game.

It all depends on who butters your bread in this AFL game!

It's all about image with the AFL - Bugg gets 6 because a young blonde kid copped a roundhouse.

This was more complex to the layman but far more dangerous and recklessly intentional and he gets a week less...

Disappointing.

It was 5 weeks without his history, did that not come into it? Weird outcome but I guess he plays for the AFL Giants

if the AFL had any backbone they would appeal the tribunal verdict... it irrelevant who he plays for or how much of a poster boy he is in their expansion area.. Harris Andrew is currently lucky to be alive. where are the goody two shoe types that wanted Bugg hung drawn and quartered when a real incident that has left someone in an actual life threatening situation.....

[censored] pathetic. 5 weeks for that? You might as well give a fine to every incident from here on, if causing BLEEDING ON THE BRAIN is only worth a 5 week suspension.

[censored] me dead.

5 weeks, what a disgrace.

1 less week than Tom Bugg for a much worse and violent offense.  He caused bleeding on the brain for [censored] sake.

The AFL are a parody of themselves. "The head is sacrosanct".     STFU you lying muppets.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
