Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10

Featured Replies

3QT: Casey Demons 6.8.44 lead Collingwood 4.3.27

Goals Bugg 2 Lewis Lok Scott J Wagner

Disposals Tyson 28 Bugg Kennedy Harris 26 Baker 18

The Demons dominated the quarter but couldn’t hit the scoreboard as they lacked the marking power up forward to take advantage of the many moves inside 50.

Both Baker and Petty will play 1s this year. Both look really good

petty will, bakers disposal and decision making is very questionable . Will need more time .

strange ...until the last week or so Oskar has been marginally ahead of Petty.

They will certainly get a chance... maybe not this season ... wonderful if we have time to get that extra development into them.

Baker has great potential, but right now he is a Hunt clone.

Must add some strings to his bow.. and Hunt needs to do the same.

Weideman a huge disappointment ... . hes been invisible.

Petty looks real solid. Will be best 22 next year. Excellent presence.

Weideman no presence

Pretty hard when the service to him has been this abysmal

Goal from jkh after a great pass from Frost. Pretty close to big today Kennedy-Harris his field kicking has been superb hes taken risks by foot all day that have opened up the play

Weideman is a real worry.. barely touched it. Hes st an age now where he should be dominating VFL level now.

Gee, Rawlings is impressive- wouldn’t mind betting he gets a senior gig one day. Great to see Casey play the same high pressure contested footy as our firsts. Everyone is singing from the same songbook at last.

Guy Lok robbed of a beautiful goal a few minutes ago.

Have to agree considering the promise he showed earlier in the season.

that is a ridiculous over-statement

he's 20 ffs

petty has controlled that back half

and when weed is clunking those sorts of marks you can't help but watch the kid and think 'add 10km of muscle please' - he has agility and the basic traits of a key forward, but he's undersized and only 20 years old...will be a player

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
