Seems like they'll either both get off or both get done.

Given that it's an AFL tribunal, they're just as likely to suspend the umpire, Gil McLachlan, or the prime minister

Mmm, he did lead off with that, which is all about the doubt - so it makes sense he concludes with it - as that is all he really has.

Bottom line is, there are people are starving in the world and money is being wasted on defending the Curnows. Let them play, give them a smack bottie and donate the money from their match fees to Charity.

Happy for these Curnow Bros to play this week since they both seem to have a problem with their vision.

Cleared for 20/20 vision by the Carlton doctor

AFL reporter Nick Bowen who has been providing the updates says:

A lot of legalese in any appeal and that was certainly the case today.

Suspect we'll be waiting a while for a decision, but still think appeal on Charlie Curnow will be thrown out, but appeal on Ed will be upheld.

In other words, if I'm right, Charlie's $1000 fine will stand, and Ed will receive a  new tougher penalty, most likely a one-match suspension.

My interest in this is mainly because we are playing the Blues this week. If it was a GWS player I'd be doing work right now. :P

Your post doesn't make sense, unless you meant to say  the appeal will be rejected.

I expect an appeal to the High Court either way.  Still reckon the whole saga is a plot to disrupt our selection planning today.

Murphy in for Ed and Marchbank for Charlie or another Blue dropped if Charlie gets off.

I meant the appeal would be rejected. I did say I wasn't a lawyer and now you know why.

Ed is gone, Charlie not sure. 1 all would satisfy many.

VERDICT IN:

Charlie Curnow evidence clear saw umpire and spoke to him and had contact with him. But took place while he was trying to break up potential melee. Open to consider his actions as inadvertent.

Cannot be said Tribunal decision was so unreasonable.

Appeal dismissed.

VERDICT IN:

Ed Curnow appeal. Video demonstrates clearly concession was honest and well based. But in those circumstances not other conclusion reasonable that contact was intentional.

Appeal upheld

So both Curnows tell fibs, but one is more plausible than the other.

Good pick. To save AFL face, it really had to be, didn't it? Let's steamroll the 'Scum this weekend - and along the way, flag, tag and bag Curnow with a couple of 'get up slowly, with assistance' bumps whenever possible, and I mean more than once.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
