He'll be worth a hell of a lot more in 2 years, trust me. Smart young man/good manager. He'll never leave the Dee's, I wouldn't worry about that. Hit the nail on the head I reckon. Think about how much more effective Oscar will be with the strength that another 2 pre-seasons will bring. Great news from our list managers. Well done team, and thanks Oscar. 3 Quote
In Harmes Way 7,869 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 I wish I could hit a golf ball as far as he does. 290m. Gees. Well done Oscar, great news. Allows you to concentrate on helping us towards a flag with no further distractions apart from the parade. 1 Quote
Skuit 10,031 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Well played Melbourne. Give the young-uns a sniff of success and then low-ball them with the threat of Gold Coast hovering in the market. 1 Quote
chook fowler 19,778 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Still only 22 - very young for a full back. He’s doing very well. Like others would have preferred 3 or 4 years. 3 Quote

Who will he play on tomorrow night? He should get Roughead, did a great job on him in Round 4 despite the fact Roughead kicked a couple on him in junk time. Was just about our only winner that day. Another young gun signed up. 1 Quote
deanox 10,070 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 I don't know if it's been reported but it wouldn't surprise me if the length of the deal was the sticking point, with us insisting on 3-4 years and Oscar looking for 1 or 2. He will be in demand in a couple of years and possibly commanding big dollars; we also just signed Lever on big dollars (reportedly ~$750k) so I don't blame Oscar for wanting to test the water. 2 Quote

deebug 1,754 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 This is great news? Congrats O- Mac. Quote
Nasher 33,686 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 2 years is the standard, not sure why it’s “short”. His next one or possibly even the one after will be his biggest pay day, so absolutely zero point in locking in too long a term. 1 Quote
Dees'97 52 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Omac and frosty are going to kill it down back for even longer now! This duo is seriously underated, so glad omac has been given 2 more years 2 Quote
Willmoy1947 4,261 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Are we seeing the end of Big backmen and Big forwards, with the style of play to speed and agility outweighing strength and marking?? Quote
Bombay Airconditioning 6,509 Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Great news, keeping the gang together. Quote
