Doubt he will leave the Dees, but both his younger brothers play for the WA clubs, so if he leaves there's a fair chance it'd be to WA?

Brayshaw is a more rounded midfielder than Petracca, but Petracca has the x-factor that not many do. Great to have them both!

I have been told this from someone I know.  Vague answer I know but may not be as straight forward as we were all expecting.

Well, it would presumably get us back into the first round by way of compo.

If he keeps up his current form, that’s for sure

North will be all over Brayshaw like a rash.

They have a lot of room in their  cap and a first round pick on offer.

They could offer him 650k plus and we would have to match it.

Apparently the Roos are into De Goey.

And I was told at the Saints game on the weekend Angus Brayshaw is going to the Dockers.

I hope this isn’t true because Angus game on the weekend was awesome! We need to sign T Mac and Angus ASAP. I will be disappointed if Angus goes.

It would be like Scott Thompson leaving all over again.

Throw him in the Magoos now if he doesn’t want too sign. Haha...

I have heard he is looking around.

Great now purple or Hutchinson or one of the other media worms will be reporting a scoop Brayshaw is thinking of leaving

They won’t take my word, that’s for sure.

Ill delete the post.

Brayshaw is fitter and that's about it. Petracca has it all over him in every other facet of the game.

Except the helmet, I doubt Petracca would find one big enough for his head ?

I've heard he wants nothing more than to stay a Demon and will sign a contract sooner rather than later.

I hope you’re right.

The Brayshaw love on this forum is off the chart, Bradshaw represents everything this club has been for a long time nice, predicable and average while Petracca represents everything many associated with this club dislike, unbelievably talented with a touch a touch of swagger and unpredictability. Come 2020 Bradshaw will still be an average player who can’t hit the side of a barn and Petracca will be one of the premier players in the competition.

I think we all agree that both are better than McCartin. Well done Saints

Amusing how some are criticising Brayshaw's kicking on one hand, but then stating that Trac is elite/better etc? When you compare their career stats they're basically the same, for everything, and I'd argue that Brayshaw has had the more interupted run of games to get his touch.

If you actually want to go off this years Disposal Efficency,

Brayshaw 68.5% (avg 3 clangers per game)

Petracca 63.6% (avg 4.8 clangers)

Oliver 72.2% (avg 4.4 clangers)

Personally I think Brayshaw is more rounded, can use both sides of his body. Petracca is more x-factor, I don't recall him ever kicking opposite foot? I love the upside of both players and would love both to end up one club players with 250+ games. ??

I think this thread is a gross over reaction to a long awaited impressive game from Brayshaw.

Trac has the attributes to be the best player in the comp at one stage, Brayshaw doesn't.

I was encouraged by Brayshaw's performance on the weekend, but I'm going to need to see it against some better opposition before I get on the bandwagon with everyone else. For me, his kicking is always going to hold him back.

I think some of your observations are off the mark also.

There is a reason Petracca is the 3rd rated small/medium forward on the AFL player ratings behind only Greene and Betts. He is elite at what he does.

Your views are noted, appreciate the discussion WTM!

I guess the context I considered was that they were closely recruited as two players that played together and both had different paths at AFL level. My observation was that despite both being “of the same ilk” that they’re markedly different and both shown development in different areas of the game. Most here have highlighted their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day, naturally I’m so happy we have them both, but one appears to have a more “mature approach” that has demonstrated sustained development whilst the other has a capacity, yet is still stuck in 2nd gear as other observers have noted.

With both firing at full strength, with Clarry, Viney the Double-Mac and others in support, we’ll definitely produce noteworthy performances! Go Dees!!!

Brayshaw can hit targets, his kicks are just often a bit loopy and lack penetration which the stats don’t show.

Brayshaw's manic attack on the ball and player is back.  He doesn't have Petracca's ceiling, but he can become our Cotchin.

Oliver, Viney, Petracca, and Brayshaw can become the best collective of midfielders in the AFL.

Olivinaccashaw!

By then Dangerwoodlett will be long gone.

All I know is that at the moment, I wouldn't want Petracca to be kicking for goal after the siren to win a grand final. It would only be marginally less nerve-wracking than Max.

These are the worst kind of posts on footy forums.  You provide zero context and one is left guessing as to the veracity of the contribution.

From experience one nuffie relays a comment they've heard from another nuffie who read the link on a news outlet that Brayshaw, who wasn't getting a game at the time, should potentially seek a trade to Freo.  Cue the nuffie relating 4th hand info as though it's fact. It happens all of the time.  Said nuffie actually "heard" nothing.

Having said all of that, I'm virtually certain Brayshaw won't want to leave all of his mates when they're on the verge of maturing into the side we and they have hoped for.   It just doesn't make sense.  And if it doesn't make sense it won't happen.

There are people on here that know people in footy and therefore are happy to pass on some info that relates to our club.

The fact you don't want it to be true and you have no idea whether it is, does not give you the right to call me a nuffie.

If you don't want to know the information, then I suggest you don't reply.  There are supporters on here that are happy to hear info that is not in the open market whether it be positive or negative.

Most people don't just make things up.

I didn't call you a nuffie, but I did explain how many "I've heard" commentaries have zero veracity and how nuffies can believe them to be fact.

I'll ask again, who told you he was looking around and how would they know ?

Weird thread.

Both differing in skill-sets and neither of them are well rounded yet. Petracca is clearly more dynamic.

But when they’ve hit 100 games together with Oliver, and Viney is close to 150 our midfield is going to be pretty crazy.

That’s all I care about.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
