I think what you say makes perfect sense. However, some brands will be a tad more aggressive and try to get in front of the wave, not just ride the wave. Then you can build a long-term relationship that can ride the highs and the lows - but I concede easier said than done. But if you remain positive, stay focused and consistent with your message - big brands are always looking for the right opportunity to grow in a partnership.

How many bigger companies are there sponsoring AFL clubs than Zurich? That's a big deal.

And Infiniti might give us an in with Nissan. Either way, looks good.

Well said we have a very bright future in a very tough environment. Today is another positive day for our club and our new sponsor.

Not sure on BF, i only read it occasionally, but nothing would suprise me with the good Dr. He is going in hard today, must have spiked the dosage...

I should have clicked earlier with his repeated mentions of "Negativity" etc etc

How on Earth is the twit allowed to have an account on here?  At least we dont have to worry about the current site owners selling out. ( Not blaming the owner of Demonology as i understand his health wasnt so great at the time).

Dr Who wasnt even a MFC supporter if my memory is correct.

Well there was a poster on Big Footy called Dr Who use to go for Melbourne then changed to GWS and spent most his time putting down Melbourne. It was sad.

He certainly isn’t now, but all his ideas and statements are brilliant, according to himself...

Sounds like a similiar person. He is a Tiger right now. No idea why he has set up a camp here posing as Demon.

He was right into Carlscums elite training about 5 seasons ago, that went well....

As far as corporate pep talks went, it was in a class with this.

Come to think of it, had CS gone in and done that in the eve of 148 instead of Neeldy's unblinking serial killer shtick, we may have reduced the margin by at least 4 goals.

This new Infiniti deal is an interesting one.

Mere speculation only, however I wonder if iSelect's BOJ deal was minimal, but as we wanted to repay the faith, we kept them as BOJ. This then meant we needed to sign another major sponsor to fill the gap in expected BOJ sponsorship.

The only problem with this theory is I'm not sure what Infiniti get out of the deal exposure-wise. Surely, they'd want jumper coverage...?

iselect is a principal sponsor (along with zurich)

infiniti is a major sponsor (along with 8 others)

it would all be decided by $$$$$s

Gotcha. Pays to actually read things properly, eh? ;)

It's a big photoshoot to roll out for a major sponsor. But I like it. Boosts the brand value in the eyes of many. A chance to get more eyes on all our sponsors and a good news story.

Thanks RD. Yeah, I saw this, but doesn't seem like much if it was a principal sponsorship deal. Turns out I didn't realise there were principal AND major sponsors.

True, I had to actually look up  the difference between principal and major sponsors  on the club website.

I assume Infiniti  would also get to request a certain level of player to be their ambassador.

Hence Lever, Trac and Hogan in today's photos. They may not be the ambassadors but  are probably indicative of the value of the sponsorship.

I like the idea, good for the club, good for the sponsor - and gives the players a sense of how important they are to us10/10 to everyone.

I believe he was named by Rod Grinter Riot Squad in the fallout from 'Ology folding.

I won't repeat his real name  here as it might be like Beetlejuice in that if you say it enough times, he appears in your direct vicinity.

Not sure about that. I met a guy at training one day who introduced himself as RGRS. Seemed OK! Could have been lying?

Well done on those at the club who did the hard yards laying the groundwork for the clubs current position. This time last year we didn't have a BOJ sponsor and we've just signed another lucrative sponsor to go with Zurich in the last few months.

Congrats to PJ, Bartlett et al for the work they've done

I think CBF was saying that RGRS named the poster, as in gave his real name, as opposed to was named RGRS

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
