Can confirm, Harmes asked for #4 and they gave it to him, also;

Lever #8

Spargo #9

Maynard #20

Balic #27

Fritsch #31

Petty #33

Baker #35

That's all the Number changes for next season (so far)

Thanks drunkn.  I love the numbers.  I know many could not care less.

I think it's great that they've plugged the earliest available gaps, I'm not a fan of reserving revered numbers.

Looks like 41 & 43 are the new remaining gaps with Josh Wagner 42, Joel Smith 44, Dec 45 and Flipper 47 beyond

Fritsch      Jumper no. 31         Draft pick no. 31.      That's a great get.

I like there has been no performance about the numbers just filling the gaps in order. Takes the heat out of it.

Is it me or does Baker look like sideshow bob?

It’s just the vibe but i like Lever in 8.

Isn't 8 on its side the " definition " of infinity, abit like the tat behind Travis Cloke's ear ?

My dictionary defines infinity as " immeasurably great, unbounded or unlimited ,perfect  "

On that score I'm very happy to have our new young recruit in 8 for the next 15 years

I played in it too , alas and alack , all credit to the recruiting staff.

RIP Trav , Long life to Jake

Apparently Baker is 33 not 35. I'm not sure if that makes Petty 35 or if that invalidate all that info. Not doubting you @Drunkn167 but the info you got may have since changed.

That makes sense I was unsure about who was 33 and who was 35 so I just went by draft order, but the rest as far as my info goes should be right

Ah well,  Baker can have the LP nickname. Still works, particularly if he becomes the Cream of the latest batch of recruits.

(Sorry. Couldn't help myself)

Oh, Ron will be happy ... one of our own, at No.31

Quick off the mark you are. Hoping that Fritsch is too.

Maybe he should be called "Glenn" -- in honour of the Aussie music icon, Glenn A Baker...

My info was solid  except the Baker/Petty mistake

In the grand scheme of things I think that can be forgiven - you were right on the money, mate.  Cheers for the info.

Harmes taking the #4 guernsey is a big ball - I like his confidence in asking for it and backing himself in, but there will be some pressure that comes with it.  Hopefully he can rise to that.

Many of us picked Harmes and Maynard to shift jumper numbers.  Great judges here.  I like the new allocations.

Fritsch at #31 = to his draft pick was as predicted poetic.

Gaff and Fyfe will look great in those numbers in 2019. :D

Must be keeping #46 for Sloane then.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
