It's a pretty good consolation if it were to happen.

His first game back after his layoff was the real Jesse we want to see for years to come.

Reckon if the site had the appropriate program, this bloke would have the highest "like" per word posted, of anyone who has ever been on 'Land. Bradman numbers I suspect.

Ta Chookers, that oughta calm a few frayed nerves.

Any word on this Taberner rumour?

If my source is correct, Jesse went to Perth before Bali, he then flew from Bali to WA to meet with Fyfe, came back to Melb shortly after attended races over the weekend and is flying back to Perth this week to meet Lyon. Grain of salt as I dont know the guy personally but seems he was spot on. This is why I think using Watts is a cop out. May all be BS at EOD

Concerning.

All that travel can't be good for his back...

Nah @Chook in Perth seems like a good bloke, media fl0gs are scum

Thank God for @Chook in Perth as the last few pages of this thread have been utter garbage. Some of the worst DL has produced, and that includes the week after we missed the finals.

Fair enough mate,

I don't know anyone in the media - I'm just going off the old saying never trust used car salesmen and the media

I love how he says the guy is his 'source' and then goes on to say that he has never met him and doesn't know him personally. Laughable.

These modern Twitter Journalists are an absolute disgrace to the art of News Gathering.

Kerry Packer and John Sorrell would sack half of these hacks within an hour if they were still alive.

Research before opening mouth ?

Click-bait ‘journalism’ - and a lot of people bit.  His boss would be telling him it was a job well done.

I posted something a while back in reference to a Max Gawn trade about Brian 'the whale' Roberts...

He was a very well liked player at the tiges when they moved him on to "better their list".

KB says it's one of the worst moves made in his time at the club...

You've got to be careful to not destabilise things when moving on a player who is part of the fabric of the club.

Watts is a very well liked player and seems to get on with everyone, players and supporters alike. He mightn't be everyones cup of tea as a player but he is part of the fabric of the club, a player who appears to bond the playing group off the field.

If I was a player at Melbourne I would be looking at this now and forgetting about all the carp Lewis and others have been taking about building a culture and taking unders, I would be looking after myself. I'm sure Connors will be reinforcing this with Petracca when the time comes.

So, Hogan has every right to look at his future if he doesn't like the way a mate is being treated.

We can talk professionalism in modern sport as much as we like but we are still dealing with people. It's still very much a people business.

Is it really worth rocking the boat for a 2nd round pick at best?

Goodwin is a gambler and I'm not sure this is a good punt. Will he end up Blight (a true visionary) or Neeld (another failed Melbourne coach)?

It's not only his coaching on the line here it's our club, our future and I know a lot of us have a lot on the line as supporters.

Time will tell but this is an uneasy time for me.

For every Whale Roberts there's a McDermott, McGuiness, Jarman.

Richmond weren't hoping to keep the injured Deledio ($800K) last year, as they needed to find a way to lure Prestia and Caddy.

And football was really part-time then.  There's no comparison to the business it is today.  Whale would have trained for a month or two preseason and 3 times a week after work.

It's not a great comparison.

And who said Hogan is looking at his future ?  His manager says he wants to be at Melbourne.  This is merely driven by speculation and Freo's desperation.  Nothing more.

Btw, the gambling reference is a poor cheap shot.

Yeah well in another development Apparently Jessie Hogan is very [censored] of with the Jack Watts situation and has had some conversations with Nat Fyffe and other Freo people. Make of that what you will

Heard the same and while no imminent move is on Jesse is alleged to have stated that the clubs treatment of Jack will make his decision easier in 2019. Repet, it is never good ditching good clubmen 1 year into a 3 years contract

What rubbish. The fact you believe it, even for a second, is a sad reflection on yourself.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
