Dees....going for gold !!

Posted

Good size.

I havnt seen him play but if he has outside run and can push forward he definitely adds to to the team.

I have a gut feel Balic would be an excellent get for MFC.

Not automatic top 22, but will be a good punt at the price we will have to pay.

I've seen noting in his "highlights" than screams...must get.

Seems just another good VFL player..

Huge difference between mixing it up in the western carnival aka  the wawful, and being effective at AFL

Hope the club isnt being too  rosey here. Still I suppose someone has to take BK's place

99% sure he will be a Demon in 2018.

Compared to Scott Pendlebury as a player and coached by Justin Plapp at Sandringham Dragons.

Looks like he played with one hand at times with his wrist injury before being drafted. All behind him now.

Dees have the inside edge here.

Pick 45.

At this point the only player not compared to Pendlebury as a junior was Pendlebury...

For those who haven't seen him play, the reason he's so highly rated as he just has time when he gets the ball in traffic. That's the Pendles comparison. His kicking was terrible but he's worked hard on improving it and it is quite good when not under pressure (not helpful). Doesn't have speed or break away speed like Oliver and Trac but does have serious Scully endurance.

He is something different than what we have but considering we are a little slow at times and really we only have 4? Spaces on our list, maybe not the best fit.

If hes that bloody good why is he getting away ?

99% certain he is ours.

Gotta love this site at this time of year.

Nah! Never seen him play. Watched a few u18 highlights just b4 my most recent post though.

I dont think I mentioned anything about outside pace. Do you mean outside run? Maybe I was referring too run and carry. ?

Yeah he said he was over his wrist injury in the video I watched. He sounds like an honest lad. And yes I believe him.

In my opinion after a little research and connecting the dots. Yes I believe he is now going to be a Demon. I found an extra 1%.

99%+1%= 100%

Welcome Harley Demon! Brrrm brrrm...

Look at what you said.

"If hes that bloody good why is he getting away ?

Both are using the homesick reason and both are getting away. So therefore Lever is mentally brittle. You never said anything about how many games they played, you just called him out because of "getting away, being homesick and therefore being mentally brittle".

I thought you knew something of football. That youd trot out such an assinine comparison quite frankly beggars belief. The background and qualifications to both circumstances couldn't be more different than chalk and cheese.

You are allowed to admit you are wrong at least once, it is not too difficult.

Stop changing the goalposts by bringing in new criteria.

You made a statement, so stand by it.

You also don't need to try and belittle my footy knowledge, inferring I know nothing about the game,  it doesn't help your position or win an argument.

You chose to change the nature of the context and you full well know it.

One has used his 'homesickness' to facilitate 'indefinite leave'  . The other's simply an old ruse. You know it.

One has the application to to job and club of moment to do his job as vesr he can. The other...god knows. All too much.

If you choose to make argument..do it properly. Dont posey pick to suit. Youve been caught out. Sort ofstuff a cheap tabloid would employ.

As to admitting wrong. When ever your ready.

He's another one who probably couldn't hurt to take with a late pick.  He's had a lot of injuries but he's meant to be a decent ball-user.  Is he any worse than some of our fringe players?  Worst case we give up a pick in the 50s for a Casey player.  No big deal.

He's probably a better option than Kennedy, JKH etc as depth with the chance he could become best 22. Worth a punt for a later round pick for sure.

Is he any better? Not entirely sure what the upside is in taking him. Some great players have been picked up in the third round. He's not going to one of them if he can't crack it for regular Freo games.

Or even free up a spot for category B players like Maynard and Smith, who've both shown early signs of potentially cracking into best 22.

We should only be trading for players who you could imagine playing round 1 in the seniors next year.

He's been injured pretty much the whole year.

Ta RM. But that's not a great sign in itself.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
