And our womens team has an oval on which to play their games, at Casey.

And we have a seconds team, to assist with bringing players back from injury, before having to play in the senior Casey team.

In addition to the return of Mitch Gent and the arrival of big Blake McGrath as mentioned above, another signing is former Sandringham and Noble Park player Yilber 'Bella' Zijai.

TAC cuppers Tom Glen, Danny Allsop, Kyle Beveridge, Kirk Dickson, Lachlan Gill-Renouf and Charlie Martello of the Dandenong Stingrays and Trent Armour, Kieran Byers, Ethan East, Keenan Hughes, Jai Rout and Nathan Voss of Gippsland Power are all training with the Casey Demons.

Has anyone any update on the Casey squad additions and departures for 2017.

im not that fussed...moving in the right direction at least. Some sort of identity for them

Not much to update at this stage but the VFL website has a link to VFL list changes for 2017 which will continue to be updated as further list changes are confirmed by clubs.

At this stage there's less information on the site than in previous posts above but I believe the list will be finalised soon.

CASEY

- In: Ben Giobbi (Noble Park) / Yilber Zijai (Sandringham)

- Out: Yarran Jaffer-Williams (Port Melbourne) / Declan Keilty (Melbourne AFL) / Oscar McInerney (Brisbane AFL) / Tim Smith (Melbourne AFL)

A couple of players from Frankston in Nathan Foote and Nathan Gardiner have been mentioned (along with big McGrath) as possible recruits from that club which is currently in recess.

I must say that it's time the Casey Demons got the website up and running so that fans could be better informed. Perhaps they're going to run it as part of the MFC site?

Which reminds me I need to update my avatar.

thanks KC

Even though Dec no longer plays for Casey, the family still wanted to support the club/players as we owe many thanks to the program. Mum contacted one of the staff members who suggest we sponsor a player, and for various reasons (financially stress, local boy who comes from our area etc.) we decided to sponsor Aloysio Ferreira.

Aloysio had a great run in the backend of the season so we were more than happy to help him out.

This morning he gave Mum a phone call to give his thanks, and mentioned that he and a few others will be participating in the Intra-club game tomorrow night. Should be good to see some of the gun Casey boys run along side the best of the best.

At least this confirms that there is a Demon posessing (father) Gill!

Paul Amy of the Herald Sun is tweeting that the Casey Demons FC have locked in Gippsland Power graduates  Kieran Byers, Ethan East, Jai Rout, Trent Armour and Keenan Hughes.

Other signings are ex-Dandenong Stingrays Tom Glen, Lachlan Gill-Renouf and Dan Allsop, and Sandringham's Liam Hiscock.

Amy has also written in his paper's local edition that former Noble Park and Sandringham player Yilber “Bella’’ Zijai, trying his luck at Casey Demons in the VFL this year, did well in Melbourne’s intraclub hitout last Friday.

Dan Allsop thread

Good to see him getting a run with Casey after missing out on the Cat B rookie position with Melbourne. Hopefully shows his stuff and gets another shot in the next draft.

Terribly disappointed to see that Matthew La Fontaine of the Dandenong Stingrays has joined Collingwood VFL. With that name he should be at the Casey Demons.

I thought La Fontaine was unlucky not to get a rookie spot. Like James Harmes he has guts pace and footy smarts. See how he develops at Scum land.

Yes looks like we have added about 10 players from TAC and suburban footy. Thomas Glen and Dan Allsopp are the ones to watch. Whilst some development league players have moved on, core Casey to remain.

Anyone know if Mitch Gent is back to Casey for 2017???

I haven't got this on any authority from the club but it would appear that this is not going to be a very high profile game and it's not likely that many Demons will be lining up.

Perhaps we will see JW line up for his first out of 2017 KC?

No OD. I believe that the club's already announced that it has ruled out an appearance by JW.

I suspect that this is a game for which the Casey listed players will be given an opportunity to impress without much input from the MFC listed players. The Redtails are not a full time NTFL side and apparently will be bringing a number of youngsters. In all likelihood (and no offence intended), they would probably get spanked if they had to face a team full of AFL listed players like JW and a few of the others who would be in the Demons' best 22. A game against mainly VFL listed players would be a good hit out for both groups.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
