Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

How about in a Bombers jumper and for free.

Equally sickening.

No, doubly sickening. Stupid stupid stupid Lions!

I really hope most of these preening young fools demanding to be traded to premiership fancies come a gutser. Take a lesser pay packet looking for an easy ride, then get stuck at a basket case for 6 to 8.

We need a player like Fyfe and Roos almost said as much when he said we need someone to take the game on and turn it round for us, or words like that.

We got destroyed yesterday by Dangerfield and then Selwood, we had no answer to their dominance and Danger treated our tackles with contempt. Maybe Tracc will be our Dangerfield and Viney will be our Selwood, I'm not convinced about that.

We need someone to be that person right now though. We need someone who our younger players can learn off. Dangerfield and Selwood both had these role models.

Whilst it's important to maintain the integrity of our young list, it's also vital that we do everything we can to ensure success.

It'll be interesting to see if we become more aggressive with our trading and FA strategy now that Roosy has gone. Think Longmire and co at Sydney with Buddy and Tippett (without the cap compromisation that this led to).

After yesterday's shamozzle, I'd be targeting Brent Harvey, Tom Mitchell and Dion Prestia. I'd consider most options, but I'd try to frontload any contracts out the wahzoo. There would only be a couple of players I'd trade and it'd have to be for the right price. Salem, Kent, ANB would be three guys I'd consider if we could land top notch leaders in the 25-28 age bracket and I'd put our 2017 first rounder out there too.

It's certainly not panic stations on the back of one horrendous loss in Round 23, but it should signal that aggressive, yet shrewd list management is still needed to ensure our pieces are in place to best attack the finals in 2017.

With our current leadership group, I hold little hope they'd be able to stand up in a final. We need players that can swing momentum in a game and stand up when it counts.

As I said before, why does everyone want to trade Salem, he was good yesterday in his first game back, with little preparation and will be a very good player for us.

It never ceases to amaze when we are asking to trade a really good player for one who may not be as good let alone better.

We don't need some reasonable ball getters we need a game breaker, a player who can pull us over the line, a Dangerfield or similar, we don't need a Mitchell or Prestia, they are ok but not what we need.  If we pick one of them up along the way, ok. but that's not what we need.

We've got a good base but need a top line player to seal the deal.  Who knows, Hogan may become our Roo and turn games for us, he may become the player that can save a game and win a game, if Jack Watts had a bit more presence he may very well have been that player.

Ball gatherers like Prestia are ok but will they stand up in a final, will his body stand up for a few seasons without breaking down. Will Tracc be our Pavlich or Dangerfield, will he break away from the pack time after time and slot the ball on to Hogan/Weeds chest, only time will tell.

Because unlike many Demonlanders, I know it will take more than just steak knives to get something of worth. Salem has worth. As I've said a number of times, I would only trade Christian in the event we managed to land someone better than Salem.

Well I doubt that that would be Prestia or Mitchell.

Wow. So Salem is a better player than both of those guys? Well, we just disagree on that score then.

For the record, I'm not suggesting Salem for either of these guys, I'm just saying there would be a scenario where I would trade him.

Caroline WIlson reports on the radio that Fyfe to Victoria is gaining momentum in  a possible swap for Jesse Hogan.

Caro usually has better mail than anyone, so things are really heating up.

Fyfe is from WA.

...and the only momentum seems to be on this forum.

Hi Caro, if your reading. Hope you don't mind the bagging you copped over the tanking saga.

Yes Caro.  How dare you print the truth without the blokey SEN hyperbole MMM white male boys club carp...that is often music to the ears of the simpleton.

He does seem like the sort of bloke who as "Mach5" would say, has a pretty good relationship with himself, so maybe he is keen on the Melbourne footy bubble and being in the papers every 5 seconds

He's probably one of only a few in the AFL who is entitled to have a good relationship with himself.

Fyfe at Melbourne would be akin to the impact of Dangerfield at Geelong.

Expect that (a) Dangerfield hasn't had serious injury issues in recent years and (b) Geelong didn't have to get rid of the best young key position player in the competition to land Dangerfield.

It would be a risk to trade this year. I would prefer to see how he performs in 2017 with his leg and then offer him a contract next year as a free agent.

if we retain Hogan and get Fyfe we will be top 4 in 2018

Nat Fyfe is the reigning Brownlow medalist though.

If we could be confident of his fitness (and that's no small thing) it would be sensational to have Nat Fyfe as a Dee. There's no doubt Hogan has potential but Fyfe was incredible pre injury.

McQueen, at the risk of sounding like Hogan's management, I'm torn. Probably because I'm sick of the club being screwed over and wanting the club to be in control rather than lead a dance (which perhaps isn't the case)

Following the Scully lie

The Hogan conversation has run dry

Thats what's going on

Nothing's fine, we're torn

Demonland's all out of faith

This is how we feel

No need to feel cold or ashamed

Just walk Nat Fyfe through the door.

If Hogan's bound for Perth

Let's determine what he's worth

Caro reckon's he's off

So who am I to scoff?

But If his Manager's a two faced pr1ck

Fyfe and a late selection may do the trick

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
