Dawes, Frost, Stretch, Wagner, Omac, Trengove, Hunt.

Those players aren't best 22 (currently) if everyone is fit and in standard form IMO.

That's 4 of the current back 6 out.  Who are your back 6 in this best 22?

I reckon we might be taking a bit of a risk with Viney. I hope it doesn't backfire. I'll trust the FD to know that he's right to play. I just know they've admitted a few mistakes already this year. Namely Brayshaw's inclusion earlier in the year.

Dont think they'll risk him Adam. Most likely Harmes/Grimes In. Bit of Roosy cat & mouse going on me thinks

Matt Jones had 30 something possessions yesterday and will return to the senior team.

He got to contest, after contest, after contest.

The message from the FD seems clear to me....

Coll are fielding a team of giants!

3 players over 200cm ( Forwards/ruck: Grundy, Witts, Cox.  ).  We have 1 - Max

3 players 195 or over. (Backmen: Reid, Frost and White (fwd).  We also have 3: Oscar, Jesse and Jack W)

Coll look set to exploit our perceived (maybe real) weakness in the air.  Wouldn't be surprised to see one of their 200+ giants as spare man in defence (ala Oxley last year).   Hope our players follow coaches instructions this year and contest to bring the ball to ground in the forward line and pray that Kent and Kennedy have their running boots on!  Also hope our mids send the ball in low rather than the high bombs of recent weeks.

Think we will miss Jeff tomorrow.

I wonder which one Jetta will match up on?

But we have Tom Mc and Frost at 194 and Dawes at 193 so not that badly off!

But the over 200 Pies are 203, 209 and 211.  Max is 209 and will take one as a ruckman.  Still leaves a tall order for TMc, Frost or Dawes.

Individual match ups aside, my thinking in earlier post was more about how the game will be played out with the pies going so tall.

Considering how many goals Collingwood let out the back last week, baffling they didn't inject more run. Must get them on the rebound. Pity we are not that fast ourselves

Funny story-  My Dad (also mad Melbourne supporter) was driving his car last year and accidentally hit a bloke on his bike. Turns out he hit Dean Kent. We joke that the incident lost Kent some of his speed and ruined his career. Kent's manager actually rang him up and made him pay for a new bike

Long story short, he was fast before he got hit by my Dad's car..

It's not about being fast, it's about speed of ball movement.

Makes the Garlett omission a little more interesting. Hopefully Jayden Hunt will have a good day breaking away from those bigger blokes.

Wow Stuie, we're a lot further behind than what I think we are if either Matt Jones or Harmes are in our BEST 22.

Why? Jones was very good before injury this year. I'm not saying he's a gun, or he's the future, but he was definitely best 22 based on his form before injury this year. Similar with Harmes, he showed enough before his slump the last couple of weeks.

Jetta, TMac, Bugg, Lumumba, Salem, Dunn.

And before you start, go back to the context of this.

Dunn is not in your 22.

Anyone know what the AFL's reasoning is behind starting the match at 3:20?   Seems an odd time to me when there are no other matches.

Apologies then, just an oversight. I'd probably have Pedersen alternating with someone like Harmes or M.Jones.

Didn't really look back over it, not that interested in going around in circles with you. I've tried to give you definite answers on things to avoid that.

TV.

Yep, that's what it's all about. The 3:20 timeslot kind of works well with the walk from Fed Square though. Time for lunch and a couple of refreshing beverages, then to watch the Dees hammer the Pies into the turf.

Reasoning is stretching it a bit, but the answer is two words: Channel Seven.
