GAMEDAY - Round 6

Petracca score involvement...

Bugg snaps a beauty...

No point at the scoreboard or "Shhhh" from the little bloke today!

Hope Bugg gets stuck into Montagna.

Frost has been great so far...

Petracca snaffles a beauty off the ground in the contest...

Smooth skills on show by the young fella...

Would love to see a replay of that...

Sounds like we are winning ugly. That is ok right now, far better than losing. Roosy can tweak a lot...

Petracca is building into this game nicely.

Frost marks all on his own in the F50 after Gawn and Jones combine on the wing...

Both Gawn and Jones have been everywhere so far...

Runs in....

Goal!

Frost has 2...

33-16

Frosty showing a bit early.

Saints transition well again...

Membrey marks 25 out on a slight angle...

Runs in....

and....

Goals for his 2nd...

33-22

Petracca standing next to Savage...

Makes Savage look like a slightly build Yr 9 girl...

Gawn with a huge defensive pack mark...

Transition by the Dees... Salem grubs one into the F50...

Dunn pumps it in...

SIren...

33-22 Qtr time...

Salem is very frustrating at the moment. Poor defensively and for some reason his kicking skills have abandoned him. Hopefully he gets some confidence back soon because we need him firing off half back.

Well it's the same fast brand of footy, but they're manic around the contest too. I think we're good enough to win, but don't know if we're composed enough to win

Reasonable first quarter, we look good in attack but need to tidy up the defensive side of the game, the Saints would feel if they can kick straight they're right in this game as well so should be a good game.

Hmm. Plenty of positives, but need to tighten up. My man Dunn ... gives away a 50, then follows up with a free downfield.

Back line still comparatively inexperienced, and it's showing.

Should be up by way more

Don't think we should even be this far ahead

Defence needs to be tightened up. Reiwolt getting a free reign up forward.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
