That Andre Parella is a man nountain. Would definitely be my first preference. I like Greg Clark aswell. Hard running player who is expected to fall that way. Closest i have seen to the next Andrew Embley.

Not sure why posters keep wanting the club to pay out his contract.

For a start, this should be an absolute last resort act, which should not be lightly entertained. It creates all sorts of list management issues, not to even touch upon the impact it can have upon a list culturally.

He has played up there in the past. Not really the point of the post, though. We don't need any more small forwards at the moment.

I think we should take Francis, not on the assumption that he is going to be a gun midfielder, but on the basis of him being a very good player. The only question for me is - how do we go about getting Francis and Parish to the MFC? Do we take Parish first and hope Francis slides through to 7? Or vice versa.

197cm / 96kgs with a real competitive streak about him. Can't see any reason why we couldn't get him with a later pick but I can't see him lasting to the Rookie Draft. Pretty sure he was a highly rated junior coming into this past season.

I know he did his ACL and everything, but has rehabbed well and for me just presents an opportunity to get a quality tall on the cheap a bit like what we did with Max Gawn given he had done an ACL before we drafted him.

Hoping for David Cunningham at this 3rd round pick. Very impressive for Oakleigh Chargers in TAC grand final in under 18s.

Pace, smart choices and attacking competitive type of player. We need pace and run. Suit on a wing or half fwd. Reminds me of Isaac Smith type.

Well Doggies got rid of Talia. Tom Williams also retired last year & Morris isn't getting any younger, so they may use Pick 27 on Skinner if they think he may not last to 47.

He's one of those players who could go anywhere from about Pick 20 onwards.

You never know who will get through but most of the top 30 are well regarded. So far there hasn't been much concern about personality or family drama with any of them.

I'm not sure we are in the market for a key defender and my personal preference is to avoid late round tall forwards, it's hard to find the right combination of skill, athleticism and physicality. Himmelberg is tied to GWS as well, whether they take him or not is a different matter.

So that leaves a lot of midfielders and flankers.

Cuningham is a great prospect but doubt he lasts. Mutimer seems the kind of competitive, strong over head, left footer, dandy stringray who'd the fans would warm to. White is another Stingray who looks to have dash and left foot, good size as well, is he related to Mitch White? Aidyn Johnson does a heap wrong but his line breaking talent is obvious. And that last name on the list Mason Redman might be the pick of the bunch, he's a straight running, clean marking type.

Harrison Himmelberg ... wow thats hollywood like.

Surely GWS will match if they have the points.

Cunningham and Redman for me.

Based on Taylor's interview from the combine, the recruiting staff seem pretty confident of getting some decent talent at these picks. I'm not sure whether that means that they have a couple of clearly identified targets that they believe will still be available, whether they rate this year's draft class much more highly than others do, or whether it's all just smoke and mirrors. I've been very impressed with Viney and Taylor's track record with late picks, so I'm guessing that it's the former.

Here's our record since Viney joined the recruiting team (2012) and Taylor took charge (2013):

2012: Jesse Hogan (Mini-Draft 2), Toumpas (4), Jack Viney (26FS), Kent (48), M. Jones (52), Terlich (68), Stark (RD3), Clisby (RD19)

2013: Salem (9), Kennedy-Harris (40), Hunt (57), Harmes (RD2), King (RD19), Georgiou (RD35), Jetta (RD50)

2014: Petracca (2), Brayshaw (3), Neal-Bullen (40), Stretch (42FS), McDonald (53), vandenBerg (RD2), White (RD20)

Out of that group, I'd argue that at this stage the only misses are Toumpas, Stark & Clisby.

Of the other players that may be argued as misses (M. Jones, Terlich, Hunt, King, Georgiou), 4 are still on the list. Georgiou played an important role for us in 2014 as our backline moved away from being Frawley-centric, Terlich & Jones have both finished top 5 in the Bluey, and the jury's still out on Hunt and King, but both still have a fair bit of upside.

I think that Viney & Taylor have proven that they know what they're doing. Every recruiter has some misses, with Toumpas being our only catastrophic one despite being rated as the second best player in the draft by most experts.

I'm looking forward to seeing who we pick up early on, but I'm also very excited to see what direction we go with 46 & 50, as well as in the rookie draft.

Judging from the limited vision of him it looks the other way around. His decision making looks great it's just his kicking looks awkward and lacks penetration. The ball gets where it's going, it just doesn't look pretty.

He's a strange prospect because it's unusual to see an early bloomer who then peaks before the draft have such a slight body and a baby face. Usually it's the man child type who stops growing.

I can see why he or his mentors picked Cotchin for him to watch, because Cotchin is a footballer who (despite the finals flops) competes really well as an inside mid despite not having the body shape to really do so or any stand out athleticism.

At this stage I'm not sure what position NOK would play at AFL level and so I'd probably have him more of a rookie pick.
