Could it be that they have made their own pact to stay together and make it happen?

The answer to that specific question is no, they haven't.

Robbo asked it of Jesse on the night of the Rising Star award, and he wasn't foxing when he answered in the negative.

He did make similar comments to ANB though, and I think we can all detect in a number of the younger brigade a genuine determination to turn the club around, and I agree that there is real sincerity when they speak of their belief in one another and the promise of what's to come.

The fact that they all seem to be getting along famously - Hogan, Harmes, ANB, Stretch, Gus et al - can only strengthen the close-knit culture we are trying to create.

Agree completely Webber. Really looking forward to ANB lifting another notch with a full pre season. Good reader of the play.

Yep, add me to the fan club too. Most people seem to lump him into the meat and potatoes, solid foot soldier category. I think he's a bit better than that. I think if he hadn't arrived in the same draft as Brayshaw, Petracca, Stretch and vandenBerg and debuted in the same year as Hogan, he's be receiving far more positive attention. He adjusted to the speed of senior footy amazingly well, seems to be of tremendous character and does all the basic things really well. Screams 200 game player to me. If it was 2010 we'd be talking him up as our next captain.

Great summation Goodvibes. I've read 'meat and veg' comments in relation to ANB and I don't see him that way at all. I'm trying to think of the one game (besides the Geelong one) where it was pretty clear he had some real tricks. What a real bonus if he could come on next season.

Indeed RTG. I saw him in, I think about about three games live and some on TV. By the end of the season I reckoned we had a player. I'm happy with that from a young first year player - improvement over the year.

I've just finished removing Jimmy Toumpas as my favourite player BBO and installing ANB into that lofty position. He'll be on the outer by next years' post season.

Reminds me of mark Lecra from the Eagles he's a beautiful shot for goal really excited about him.

I see him more as a Jack Redden, Jimmy Bartel type and think he'll sit somewhere between the two in terms of talent and production by the time his career is up.

Didn't think I'd say it, but I'm in Middy's camp here re Lecra - although very early days.

Very good debut season from Nibbler, and his upside is obvious to me. I can see him and his best mate Billy urging each other to greater heights for the red and blue for many years to come.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
