The aim is for finals next year. That's what PJ, Roosy, Goodwin et al. have set the bar at. Players such as Hogan, Viney are intent on getting there sooner not later. I like that attitude. Sometimes players 29-33 are when they're playing their best football. Age doesn't concern me when 'challenging' is sooner rather than later. And sometimes these decisions actually help team performance in the interim rather than 'down the track.'

I agree with Pederson re: this season and last year. And I'd prefer McDonald down back for stability and am keen on Sam Frost and what he has to offer next year. My main concern is where Dawes is at in terms of output and our second ruck/forward option.

Agree. I too like the drive of our young blokes wanting to play finals asap. Coupled with brining in older heads who have finals experience and leadership qualities. Playing finals will certainly help to keep our young stars together rather than seek opportunities elsewhere.

I think Tippett would cost a lot in terms of trade and salary, and I think the AFL would crawl all over it in a flash. Like the idea, but don't think it will happen. I still think we must focus on quality midfielders.

I think there will still be a focus on a quality midfielder to add to what we have. We also have Petracca and possibly Trengove to add to our midfield. I think Gawn has made really solid progress this season, I think our coaches realise though he needs a chopout with someone who is forward savvy. Particularly when playing against the best opposition.

All this said, I'm mindful of Buddy's current scenario. But I'll stand by my original post and source in that Tippett is looking to move on from Sydney, if not this year, next year.

So. What is new? This deal has always been very piscatorial.

Not talking about the deal... I'm talking about the whole mysterious seizure incident. Could potentially be a massive cover-up for what is really going on.

Apparently there's a link between Buddy and Tippett that will see one or the other requesting/being told to move on.

That's my feeling on this too, but I'm not averse to a conspiracy theory.

Given the alleged threesome, I'd say it's some bad press Sydney could do without, hence the coverup. Particularly, if he's being paid millions and millions of dollars for positive marketing in a tough Sydney market.

fascinating stuff

Be interesting to see what eventually makes its way to the surface.

Meanwhile..this bloke Tippett...... as a player id have him, fair to say controversy is never far away.

Wonder if Roosey would be interested ? Hed still have enough contacts to know the 'real' story

I think both have sucked the blood out from the Swans ethos.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
