GAME DAY - Round 21

MFC = absolute joke.

Just fold already

And that kid wants to be an umpire?

Wrong career choice mate....

Moron Newton. Zero awareness.

2 down on the bench and we are still slow and second to the ball

Wtf is wrong with Nathan Jones??

Hogan can't even take a mark. We are cooked.

Hogan has Dawes hands today

The embarrassment continues

They're down to one on the bench. We had all the momentum from the third quarter, but blew by kicking 5.6 when 8.3 would have had us in front.

Yet we remain 4 goals down.

Edit: Newton playing for his career, you'd have thought, but just jogging down the wing when we need desperation.

Hogan! Stop spitting the dummy and staring at you're hands whenever you miss a mark or don't get the delivery you would like, especially when the ball is still in play near you! FFS!

Only against Melbourne do complete [censored] spuds like Buckley and Everit have good games

And [censored] off Garlett. Useless today and completely costly.

Get [censored] Melbourne, you are a pathetic heartless gutless bunch of losers and you are embarrasing this once great club.

Jones clearly injured

Why would we play injured players? Club should be accountable if true.

Get your head out of it mate, Jones is just playing like [censored]. He got his lucrative contract and his future secured.

Another [censored] terrible 50 m penalty. And it went closer to 70 m.

Harms has worse disposal then bail

The margin may be smaller but that is mainly a reflection on our opponent. They are last for a reason.

Playing one quarter of good football is unacceptable but we continue to do it and Roos has not worked out why it happens, or how to fix it.

Any chance of anyone holding their footing?

Grimes slips over n stays down while his man boekhorst runs down and almost goals

He's having a shocker. AND he's injured. He might not have started the game with an injury

Sigh

And this is why Cross gets another year.

Head first while the rest of our players cruise around attempting one armed tackles.

Let's put how poor this is in prespective

Carlton are last

They have lost to gc lions etc

They had at least 2 on the bench for the second half

They convincingly beat us in pressure acts which we as a team are meant to be proud of

Disgusting effort

There are some senior players on our list which we need to rid but we won't because we are [censored] weak

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
