GAMEDAY - Round 17

Featured Replies

We have too many [censored] lazy footballers - Dawes, Howe, Tyson, Garlett to name a few.

They need a cattle prod up their collective arses.

Game over.

I'm done with this club for the year. I don't care anymoe.

I think a lot of us feel this way me included.

Disgraceful, pathetic, useless, and pathetic.

Yes I know I said pathetic twice but I thought it was called for.

How did I know garlett was going to miss the set shot and then know he would kick that when he picked it up.

Someone needs to sit him down and have a talk to him

How does Jeff get the goal on the run but miss the set shot??? WHY make things so hard for yourselves Dees???

[censored] these umpires

bet the umps try to even up the frees in the last qrt

Patience is over with this club ... Always choosing when to bring effort ... There's a few senior players who need to question themselves of wether they deserve the $$$ there on... Supporters can't continue to watch garbage & pay memberships etc when u get this crap... Don't know wether the bad culture is still rooted in Some of the playing group... 18 yr member I'm over it .. Don't expect to win always but this crap effort always raises its ugly head....

my god michie is slow

These umpires are pathetic. Why can't any of these bastards get called to account? Disgusting state of affairs AFL.

bet the umps try to even up the frees in the last qrt

They always do. Same [censored] every week. This is starting to look like one of the most rigged sports going around.

Done with this club. Done. Done. Done.

Now watching Eagles v Swans. A lot of turnovers and basic skill errors as well.

The difference is the players play for each other and the jumper, they have heart and hate losing. We don't seem to give a [censored].

We constantly make average players from the opposition look good.

Also [censored] the umpires, one of the worst umpires games I've seen.

Well, that was the worst play of the year. Should have been an entry into the forward line but too gutless to take the game on.

We are an established team of extremely dumb footballers who lack the skills at AFL level.

I should not be surprised. Incredibly lame effort.

Josh Mahoney spoke of our club being more attractive to players in a function today. I can't really see it.

Delusional. Not only are we unattractive to opposition players, if I were Hogan and Brayshaw I'd already be talking to my manager. Hogan especially, he relies on players upfield to get him the ball he will waste his career playing for us.

I struggle to see why some think Garland is a must keep, time to go

Done with this club. Done. Done. Done.

il see you next week then?

Expected this all week - still watched caus I cant help it

Match day coaching is not one of Roos' strengths.

But he's a "coach". If he can't "matchday coach" then he can't do the job.

bet the umps try to even up the frees in the last qrt

Bet they don't

Without a doubt, we are the worst team in the league.

Carlton and Brisbane don't have the cattle.

We have a stack of talent that have no team dynamics. They breakdown on team fundamentals.

I can't see us turning a corner next year and playing finals.

We absolutely suck as a team.

Comical then when we finally draft well, we put together a bunch of blokes that look like they hate each other.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
