6.0.36 for the Hawks.

Good kicking is good football.

Take note, all 17 other teams.

They are such a good football side. Great players who are superbly coached. The word envious doesn't even go it justice.

Hard not to wonder what's happening in that alternate universe where the Melbourne Hawks exist. Probably right behind the Tasmanian Devils on the ladder.

Paying them more isn't going to reduce human error

They're still going to blink at the wrong time, have players move in their line of view, or misjudge the power behind a push or shove

nothing to do with money. who said anything about paying them more

it's about spending more time perfecting their expertise and analysing their decision making......professionally as against part-time

If our team all stood in centre of the ground and were yold...

If you can't dispose of the footy leave now.

If all you bring is bringing the ball to ground leave now.

If you can't play hard contested footy leave now.

If you don't understand that you need to come ready to play every week leave now.

How many would be left.

Probably just Angus Brayshaw. We better not do it just yet.

Hawks are just plain scary

3 flags in a row coming up for sure

And as predicted the Pies early season form was a fluke thanks to a soft draw. They are pretenders

I didn't know the Harlem Globe Trotters would be televised tonight on Channel 7 on prime time plying against the Swans. i hadI tuned in to see some footy. Oh well.

Swans being given a bath. Hawks disposal skills under pressure are amazing.

Spangler totally toweling up Tippett. Good to see

For the love of God can we please raid Hawthorn's goalkicking and forward line coaches?

And a couple of players as well.

Adam yze has had a lot to do with the hawks forward line succes, they also have neita, so technically its a dees win?

4 peat anyone?

Looking like 5 in row from here. I am expecting Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis will still be going into their forties. I mean one of those guys could suffer a brain haemorrhage and they would still be only out for 2 weeks. Their resilience is extraordinary. They have the best list by a mile but what we are seeing is their closest competitors are losing players and carrying injured players as the season grinds on. The West Coast look like they have now lost most of their backline but the Hawks roll on with barely a hiccup three years running! At present they have Frawley out with a pre existing issue, Roughy back from a non footy related issue and a kid with a shoulder and that is it. And who knows who they will poach at season's end to extend their domination. Gee it is so great that the season is so equal, as some commentators keep saying, any team can beat anyone. Obvious bulltish the AFL wants us to believe.

Don't forget how "excited" we're meant to be for GWS and expansion. It's so wonderful seeing how many talented players they've stockpiled.

Even if Mcgovern didn't go down(still might be back in time)I think the Hawks have them covered.

I'm still thinking Hawks will land either Danger or Treloar.

Would have to be the worst case scenario for the AFL. Even worse than Franklin choosing Sydney over their precious GWS.

Did anyone catch the Cats game? Saw Motlop's stats and was just curious as to opinions on actual impact before I wandered over to the trades thread and wondered aloud if we could squeeze both Prestia and Mots in with our current trade currency/cap . . .

As I stated once before if the Dawks land Dangermouse that is it for me and Treloar would be similar. Time to follow local footy and not waste my time and energy on a lost cause that is MFC but eventually it will be the AFL competition itself.

After decades of the domination of a couple of Melbourne based sides and some interstators, it will be interesting to see if the following for the smaller, battling clubs in Melbourne will fall off a cliff as their supporter bases who are older pass on and there are so few younger ones committed to what they would see as a lost cause. If the AFL does nothing to really equalise the comp they are totally negligent.

Prolonged periods at the bottom of the ladder will soon be a death knell for smaller clubs, as the new generation of kids take centre stage. Their attention span is split between 5 things at once, and it's part of the reason the AFL desperately manipulate the competition to keep Sydney in contention. The moment they have a sustained period at the bottom is the moment everyone in Sydney stops giving a [censored] about AFL.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
