For those that don't rate Aish have you considered the following

- under developed

- poorly coached

- in and out of the side

- injuries

- weight of expectation considering his family's history

- debut too early

Or do those only apply to our players?

Aish isn't getting a good run as he hates Brisbane and they arn't playing him because of it.

In relation to comparisons to ToumpAs, if you watch Aish play you can see he has the confidence to do some real damage and he also does not have several changers per game like ToumpAs. He has that competitive and confidence that Toumpas lacks.

Also we have no other players pressuring Toumpas for spots, he is now in our starting 18...

We could get Aish for unders due to the discontent up in Brisbane which would be a good target. WC are cleaning up with Yeo who also wanted out and was traded for unders

Don't forget Polec at Port also

To be a successful winger you need to be good overhead as the ball always comes down the line. Aish is much better overhead then the Toump

Fairly solid rumour floating around that Carlisle for Yarran is a goer.

apparently the bummers are hooked, just something they saw in him, just sayin.

I think the Essendon trading scene will dry up in the near future

There's about four or five players at Essendon I would go after (if it weren't for ASADA/WADA). Carlisle would be one of them. I can't understand them wanting to let him go. Unless it's more about him wanting out.

That is the biggest load of rubbish.. i have played State footy before and the one thing on becoming a good successful winger is having a big engine and speed. Because all day you have to be prepared to be running up and down the wings and willing to spread hard from the stoppages and be that next option out in space. You don't need to be a good overhead mark to be a successful winger because if you are smart enough and spread hard you should be out on the space taking a nice easy uncontested mark and continue to provide run.

And to prove how wrong your ridiculous theory is both Jimmy Toumpas and James Aish have played 6 games each this year and Toumpas has already taken more marks then Aish already. So to me it shows he is spreading hard and getting the uncontested marks out in space. So without doing any kind of research your just trying to sink the boots into Toumpas for no particular reason just like that other Plonk Picket Fence.

Massive fail again

Try again.

What about players not getting a game with the Giants, their NEAFL is dominating all be it a weaker league. Must be someone worth a look.

Congratulations, you can twist stats and you played state.

Unfortunately AFL Is different to what you played and if you hadn't realiZed Aish has been sub for a lot of his games this year.

Going back Toumps has had just 84 marks from 24 games while Aish has had 91 marks from 3 less games and while being the sub more.

Anyone can twist stats to their argument mate, if you watch them both play isn't hard to see who is the better of the 2 and who [censored] up less

Being the sub more?? Mate do you not research or do you just pull these out of your ass to make you try and look good and continue to put Jimmy down

Out of his 24 games Jimmy Toumpas has been the sub 5 time while Aish in his 27 games has been the sub just twice.

But hey don't let the truth get in the way of that..

Another Fail.

I'm unaware of his contract status, but is there any chance we could lure Luke Parker back to Victoria?

'Sub this year'....this year. Twisting words again. You seem to do a lot of it.

If your happy with ToumpAs good on you but I like to aim higher and think we should go hard for the kid to put more pressure on places and improve our outside run.

So now its this year?? But your happy to roll out how many marks they have taken in their career, but not for the sub..

Wowee keep digging old son

I will, Aish 89 career tackles to ToumpAs 55

Didn't you see ToumpAs opponent running into every contest first Last week?

Make up your mind FFS

Of course he would lay more tackles considering Leppa played him as an on baller/center circle in most games last year wheres Toumpas has played majority wing half forward.

Why don't you highlight the fact Toumpas kept Sidebottom quite while Cross played a loose man in defence.

Oh btw i see Cross didn't get dropped like you wanted him too.

Clueless

I would take Aish in an instant.

Last year's form is a better reflection of his ability as a footballer; and that form was very, very promising.

Well someone should have been held accountable for not picking up Oxley as it cost us the game. Roos said the players didn't follow instructions so it seems he has been let off IF he was the spare but that's irrelevant as to wether we should target Aish or not.

The best winger seen at the G was Robbie Flower who was great overhead and never beaten for a mark. Aish would be a positive for me.

100% I would take Aish and I know everyone in this thread would

It all depends on the asking price

I'd be really happy if Aish was our second target midfielder.

Wouldn't be as happy if he was our first target, ahead of the likes of Prestia or Coniglio or Sloane.

Is it too greedy to want Aish AND Prestia?? Or do we not have enough to give to get both?

Money of trade value?

Aish for Dawes, they need a forward target. Dawes is a target, not a very good one but they may struggle to get anyone else.

Prestia for pick and Grimes.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
