I really want to see our red guernsey in a match!

Then you should attend a intra club practise game.

that is your only chance

See Lions are wearing their old Fitzroy blue and red jumper for one away game this year...

That is idiotic

Would we not wear the red one against Carlton in rd 21?

I may be very wrong but I do not believe it is a AFL sanctioned strip.

Have you considered we may be wearing the white one?

We may well be.

His statement about the AFL being flogs though still stands.

Don't think that is up for dispute Choke

Hawthorn's clash jumper last night was truly an abomination

Crossed between Wonder Woman @ & Power Rangers

The Hawthorn Jumper clashes with no one.

I turned the TV off and listened to the wireless.

Could not stomach that design.

Quite correct OD. It seems to be the only thing the entirety of the DL community can agree on.

Did not worry me.

After a decade of crap I just want the MFC to win games, right now I do not care what we are wearing when we achieve that.

I will worry about it 2017 when we are winning 12+ PA

Until then I do give a tinkers cuss.

*paints target on forehead*

I actually like Hawthorn's clash jumper, although like you I don't know why one is required for them. They don't clash with anyone.

Merchandising I guess?

Got it in one.

If we wear our away strip at a Melbourne home game I will lose my mind.

It would be enough to turn me away from being a member.

I don't understand why the AFL can't get the clash jumper situation right.

Step 1) Every club has a home jumper and an away jumper that is different

Step 2) The home club always wears their main jumper and it is the away teams job to change

Step 3) If there is NO CLASH then don't bother wearing the away jumper.

Pretty bloody simple.

Far too much logic for this system to ever be implemented.

Somebody said they were wearing the gold jumper in honour of flamboyant wrestler Dusty Rhodes who passed away earlier in the week. Who knows what goes through the minds of these ijits?

IDIG

No one with intelligence expects the AFL to have such.

A classic case of those who often design....don't use.

Myki comes to mind etc

How we old buggers could ever manage to discern two teams playing in mud on b/w telly is beyond me now !!

Most clashes are invented...but for why has me stuffed !

Simple bb TV believe it looks better to have one team in white or close to it.

They provide the money they call the tune.

End of story

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
