Melbourne v Western Bulldogs @ Eureka Stadium Ballarat - 14th March, 2015

Featured Replies

I am so glad I didn't drive up for this.

reminds of 2013 victory against dogs just held on to win it

I keep hearing Tysons kicks aren't good, his kicking v Freo was average, what has happened?

Matt Jones has 2 years left HH, god knows why, absolute hack

I am by no means an M.Jones fan, far from it actually but I thought he hasn't been too bad, his not the reason behind this second half effort

I will tomorrow, gee didn't expect this, very poor showing now

Stalking them on their day off now?

Holy crap, amazing. Look what happens when you get a clearance AND RUN WITH THE BALL AND KICK IT TO ATTACK!

Guess you need to be a rocket scientist?!

Score anybody??

I want my team to play like the Doggies. With heart, intensity and purpose. They just do NOT know how. It's like an illness.

Yeah what we did the whole first half when the game was on... We put the cue in the rack just like every other side does in the NAB once they get a lead

Score anybody??

69

54

69 to 54 in our favour.

24 minutes into the final quarter.

Should win but we're doing our best to lose it. This is a Casey Scorpions-esque capitulation.

He's been very good. As has Jimmy Toumpas and Chris Salem.

And Stringer kicks a goal. They're a super goal from the lead.

Just waiting for us to lose now, just like all those matches last year which were within our grasp and we just threw it away.

its getting worse

good grief

This is me, bollocks, we have capitulated, I hoped this was in the past

Haven't been able to watch or listen but sounds a lot like trying to snatch defeat from the very jaws of victory.....again.

This is deplorable.

Garland

Grimes

McKenzie

Matt Jones

None of these guys offer enough at AFL level. None of them. I'll be very surprised to see any of them in the side for Round 1.

We've got other players who do offer enough at AFL level but they all have kicking weaknesses too.

It's far too many players. We don't have enough quality kickers and it continues to kill us.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
