Feels like we're ramping up the "other" offer to squeeze a deal out of GC... Ox is part of the MFC ;)

Howe + pick 29 (toumpas comp) to north for pick 15

Posted

Howe and our 3rd for Kennedy and Seedsman would be good

its then becomes not Howe...but why ?

( dont want seedsman )

The Ox has called Howe to Collingwood. Really dont know what we'd want from them. Kennedy and a third round still feels unders considering what might be on the table from North and the Suns.

Thats either Speculative, or Mischievously clever

That's true that you can only trade what you have.

With so many speculative permutations and possibilities it's truly mind boggling what will come to fruition.

Interesting that North are interested in Howe. And I'm interested to see what their offer may be and whether it trumps GC/Coll.

Surely pick 15 is being offered by North, if they're to trump Collingwood and GC. It wouldn't be the Pies current first pick and if the Pies are after Aish and Treloar, I can't see them involved even if they are offering up Kennedy.

How about our pick 25 or even better a compo pick for say Toumpas ? (to Port for 29) and Howe for pick 15 return?

Where we could obtain Melksham with 29, keep 25, and have remaining 6, 15. Maybe Kennedy or Bugg for 3rd rounder (not sure if we could get both) and if we're somehow in the ball park where GWS are holding strong on the right deal for Treloar - offer them what they want 6 & 15 (2 x first rounders). Surely that trumps the Pies??

Holding onto 25 for our first pick.

IN: Treloar, Melksham, Bugg, (maybe Kennedy....PSD??)

OUT: Toumpas, Howe

Long shot, but from hearing Gubby this morning, GWS are looking for a better deal, other than Collingwood.

edit:

Did I just say that all out loud...

We've got as much chance of getting Trelor as we do Danger.

Howe met with Buckley in Bali today and wants to play for the Pies.

Can't remember who posted it, but I remember someone saying that when Jeremy's manager told him about the offer from GWS last year, he said 'no, but what about a deal to Collingwood?'

Ugh, they'll probably just offer a straight swap for Kennedy. We'll turn it down and they'll throw in their 3rd or 4th rounder as steak knives.

Howe was our only real chance of getting genuine currency so if he chooses the club tied up in every other trade that's not a great outcome.

Mark Stevens just reported on 7 news that the suns have offered Howe a 4 year deal and a trade of pick 3 for a swap of Howe and Pick 6 im pretty sure.. got distracted at the end so wasn't sure if he mentioned pick 6..

Yep, clearly Collingwood miles behind GC and North as our preferred trade.

That said, swallowing up their mileage might mean one of Treloar or Aish is still standing when the music stops.

Ironic that of all the clubs to end up dealing with at the trade table, it'll likely be the two most difficult (and the two who stubbornly overvalue their own players).

Viney better hold his nerve because Essendon and Collingwood have made a career bending other clubs over at the trade table.

Would do that in a heartbeat. Means we get Francis to help McDonald out in the defence.

I have a feeling we wouldn't select Francis to be honest.

Parish is what I'm hearing.

Let's hope Clayton is emotionally invested in getting him to the club and is prepared to pay overs. In a similair fashion people do with houses these days

Good for Howe.

He does realise he's not a FA?

Collingwood are going to need to find some assets to move, if they're going to acquire Howe, Aish & Treloar.

Kennedy & Seedsman won't get it done.

Honestly i would take Chook in perth comment a grain of salt. Getting pick 3 would be a win for us. But my gut feeling is Collingwood unfortunately

Take it with tequila and a slice of lemon too if you want. It's factual.

Whether it eventuates we shall see. I sure hope it doesn't. We'll get more value elsewhere.

So we give away Howe to move up 3 places in the draft?

Dumb deal for us.

Agreed, it isn't enough. They'd have to throw in their third rounder (to get Bugg).
