I still think Howe is GC bound. It seems they have chased him the hardest, and while others have shown some interest, GC seem to be the ones who have sustained it the longest.

Or maybe I'm just hoping it's GC Howe goes to as I think they can satisfy us the best in a trade.

I agree GC can offer us the best deal. And if O"meara or Prestia are not involved I would love to land there pick for Dixon (10) and if we can not on trade it for an established Mid, I would look at Sam Weideman.

I think we would have to throw in something else to get 10 for what it's worth

The question would be asked though - is Howe worth just Pick 10? Any neutral fan would easily say Dixon is worth much more than Howe, so to land Pick 10 we would probably have to add our second rounder as well... although that seems Essendon bound in the Melksham deal.

All I can say is that it's going to be a very long, and interesting, trade period watching all of these deals get done.

Do GC have any kids coming through their academy next year?

May be Howe and a second round pick in 2016 for pick 10 (2015)?

I don't trust the Pies. Their m o is to get a player to want to go to them, then screw the club on the trade deal.

Then they expect the players' club to just make it happen.

It is similar to what they are doing to Aish and the LIons.

It is the flip side of the Beams deal last year.

They just stand their ground and wear the other club down.

I just don't trust them!

Hopefully, Howe does not nominate the Pies.

the more bidding for him the merrier. will only increase his value way beyond what he is truly worth.

I disagree. Players now determine their club of choice, and a deal then needs to be struck. We don't have the power to trade Howe to get the best return. The contract offer from his new club becomes irrelevant to the trade deal. Without doubt, Howe picking GC would be the best scenario for MFC.

If Jeremy Howe opts for Gold Coast, potential deal could be Pick 3 to Dees for pick 6 & Howe. North and Pies other suitors. #TradeSENtral

GC would have to throw in their third rounder in this instance, either for us to trade for Bugg or Melksham.

Howe isn't worth a 3 pick upgrade in the first round (although it seems the club really want Parish from what I've heard).

Agreed don't like that deal at all, would rather 6 & 10 than 3. Think Brett was just suggesting rather than anything he's heard

Unless Melbourne think there is a player that we are after that will be gone by 6

I have a feeling Toumpas might be off loaded for that later pick.

An upgrade to Pick 3 would be fair to me and allow us to basically pick the player we want the most out of the draft.

Pick 3 - From what I have read, Francis and Parish are not head and shoulders better than Mathieson and Curnow. I thought only the first two picks were the stars in this draft. I think Mathieson and Curnow are a bit less refined and have greater upside than Francis and Parish...especially Curnow but are riskier prospects which is why they are rated as less.

Howe is probably worth a late first rounder I would think in this draft and where are list is at we need either a possible A grader (Prestia etc.) or double up.

My proposed trade:

Howe for Suns pick 19

Pick 19 to GWS for Tomlinson and Bugg

I must confess that I am basing this on what I have read and not personal knowledge.

Bugg hasn't been offered a contract, so an exchange of late draft picks is on the cards. And Tomlinson isn't worth pick 19.

That would suggest we are no longer after O'meara or Prestia.

We must desperately want a specific player @ pick 3 as there is nothing to suggest #3 with potential will be any better than #6 with potential. It would be like giving Howe away, after all the draft is a lottery even at the top end...we should know better than any other club.

I seem to be the odd one out on this going by other posters getting excited at the deal but I can't see MFC doing that trade.

He did also declare he wants to return home, so I would say it was mutually agreed

I'm sure that's not the full extent of the trade. GC would have to throw in pick 19 as well. The Tyson trade involved giving up 2 and 20 for Tyson and 9 + minor exchange of picks. I can see the Howe deal along similar lines.

Howe wants to play forward. The coaches want him to play in defense.

He decides his opinion is worth more than the coaches.

End of story.

And you know what? I trust our coaches a hell of a lot more than Howe or his ass of a manager. I don't give a crap what abilities he apparently "possesses." On game day, he's lazy, doesn't gut run, doesn't understand our structures and has horrible body language. Worst of all, he so desperately wants to be a forward and can't stand Roosy playing him in defence, yet he kicked more behinds than goals this year. Stop drinking your own bathwater Jeremy.

That and; we've got spare cash so paying him what he might be after is not the problem either.

Club has something cooking which will no doubt lead to a greater gain than what we perceive is going on and that's why he's on the market.

I really don't buy the whole "I've been shifted around so much" argument from Howie.

I'm not the only one who doesn't trust the Pies, bb. Just saw this about the Treloar trade: "It’s understood there are some within GWS who are uncomfortable trading with the Pies and could yet bring Richmond and possibly even Carlton into the frame".www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-trade-week-big-deals-that-everyone-is-watching-20151011-gk6h33.html#ixzz3oFylxjSn
