Worked in a spinal unit? If you can't see the bottom don't jump!

I spent about 15 years swimming and jumping into a local creek off platforms, out of trees and from rope swings with not one injury to me or any of the local kids but I've seen half a dozen people pulled out of the nice clear ocean and treated for spinal injuries after going head first into a sandbar.

There's risks to all scenarios. Our creek was slept by a large group of us looking for and removing debris that may have moved into our swimming area. I'll bet the same was done where Jonesy was jumping from.

i'm practically shaking with tension and apprehension after watching that video

think i might have a lie down and maybe a couple of bex

wow can you still get bex , powder or tab , ?

I don't get it, doesn't he have a baby to look after?

One minute he's posted himself surfing in Bali, the next minute having beers at the races with Bernard Vince and now this....

What's your point?

I agree, it must definitely be the off season, Jonesy having a bit of fun, and it turns into 2 pages of angst, dirty river?....er full of nutrients in spring, makes it brown....perhaps some should have seen the size of the waves he was attempting to surf in Bali

just what I was referring to

Knowing our luck they'll all catch a flesh-eating virus from the water.

At least the coroner will be happy when he finally croaks it.

Another twit with his name tattooed on his rumpus.

The best thing about looking at the picture was getting distracted off into Pia Miller's Instagram page. Man that is one photogenic beauty.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
