Bail, Terlich & Riley Re-Sign

Featured Replies

Every time bail gets the ball I cringe. He won't take a backward step and I respect him but the bloke can't kick. Bail and Terlich should open a butcher shop together once they retire.

It's funny that some people around here don't get it.

Roos plays a team based game plan that dictates the whole team working together, or it all falls apart.

The common theme that Bail, Riley and Terlich posess is their work rate and tendency to do these team things and play by the team rules.

The Blease's and Strauss' have the skill, but don't play this style. They either don't have the capacity to follow instructions, or don't have the will to defend.

Until we find players that have both work rate and skill, players like Bail and Terlich will still get a game.

I have respect for Bail but geez how are we going to win with his disposal around the ground and entering forward 50. deserved another shot above others but a little sad. he is just not good enough.

Terlich is combative but lacks skills. Riley looks promising, shows a bit more that just grunt so he is the one Im interested if nothing more than I know the limits of the other two.

You think that Port Melbourne would beat us?

You really think that Port Melbourne will beat Melbourne?

Probably a close fought affair rpfc with the dees by 10 points

This makes trade week very very interesting. There's going to massive changes to this list with players we dont' expect going out the door IMO.

I'm not surprised by any of these. Bail works his ass off and has had a good year, Riley is showing good signs coming off a non-existent pre-season and Terlich is a great competitor even if his decision-making is questionable. In all cases they are defensively solid, which is something Roos values.

Yep. They have more passion as a group and would be harder at the contest

What you both have to remember is one of the louder posters on here will make a 'definitive statement' about a player and a lot of the sheep will follow, they bemoan the lack of development and then bemoan resigning three players who have the hard at it and defensive qualities, but don't think they will be able to develop the rest of the attibutes to make them 'a star',

wouldnt even bank on that OD

I dont think you can be so blase !!

I wouldnt put a cent on us playing them. They exhibit everything about playing footy that we dont.

How bad are we ?? Bad enough this could even be debatable

Look it's been a long year....suggest you find a darkened room....have a good lie down.......one more game to go....I am going to Etihad in the hope they give a yelp....let Roos work his magic in the pre season

I am going to Etihad

I seriously hate that joint

I would watch them in a minefield at the moment if it meant a win

We shouldn't get a priority pick - we should get a 10 goal start at Etihad - I was there the last time we won - the bulldogs.

If the other team were in a mine field we might have a chance.

Can you say hi to the other 20 MFC supporters on Sunday night for me Saty.

10 won't get it done nutbean you ask way to little.

Doesn't say how long each has signed for but I am very surprised by one. And frankly if he is getting a game it shows why we wont be improving any time soon.

The other two I understand why.

I think with these 3 and the others already done, we can see the Roos mantra, you don't need 22 stars in a team, he has signed guys who give it everything, not the most skilful, Spencer, Jetta, Riley, Bail, Terlich...but I reckon with a targetted pre season to work on their 'deficiencies' he knows he will have 5 reliable role players.....we all know he will use the draft period to acquire a 'bit of class', we already have N Jones, Vince and Tyson, I reckon another 2 or 3 should do it

is anyone going to name names ? lol

That definitely be entertaining at least

And add a degree of uncertainty that does not exist at present.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
