GAME DAY - Round 22

Don't ya love Crosses handballing

I don't think it's a great achievement to speak of when you look at how many goals he's actually kicked.

I agree, but I think when assessing the goal output of an individual player, it needs to be taken in to account how well the team scores in general. We've clearly struggled to score all year, so I'm not sure why anyone would expect an individual to have kicked heaps under those circumstances as the person I replied to seemed to be implying.

Am growing a serious man crush on Dom Tyson. Almost the only glimmer of hope for next year.

A seriously good, goal kicking mid in the making.

Can we start the "post match thread"?

Just come out of the movies and we were 53 points down in the second quarter when I had a sneaky look.

At least we haven't capitulated....

You know as much as we talk about how we're trying to restrict scoring, if we had actually been able to do that we would probably be about 10 points down right now (53 - 63)

I give up... Demons you've broken me.

[censored] Frawley. Your attitude stinks.

He's from the Brent Moloney school of leadership.

I think I need to go back to Italy and light a few more candles .... Maybe pray for a priority pick this time.

We're winning total possessions.

We're winning contested possessions.

We're breaking even on clearances.

We have seven players with more than 20 disposals, all going at >75% efficiency.

We're losing a bunch of other general stats, but not by a margin that would suggest a ten-goal drubbing by an opponent that has clearly starting hitting the snooze button.

What the hell is going on? Are we just going sideways until we cough it up? Are we all in a little circle at about CHB, handball it around until a West Coast player in the middle gets it, then it's his turn?

Dermie doesn't even know the rules. He reckons if you knock the ball out in the tackle, it's holding the ball. No, it's "knocked out in the tackle."

At least Tony Shaw knows the rule. Yep, TONY SHAW is smarter than Dermott Brereton. Shudder.

I think that should be James Frawleys last game for the MFC, he has absolutely packed it in already imo

Guys i really think this is the outcome we needed.

The list is crap and Roos now knows this (and would have many weeks ago), apart from a core group of 6 to 8 players max. He's told them you need to show something before the end of the year or your careers are on the line pretty much after the match against the Pies (or thereabouts).

So....this is the result we had to have i'm afraid if we are ever to get back to being competitive once more on a consistant basis ...and have some respect from our competitors. Those who really want it and are capable of playing reasonable footy are out there giving it their all AND...showing a little. The rest have been shown up for what they are....nowhere near AFL standard.

And those who argued against a major turnover of this list earlier in the season and even just a month or so ago, now have egg on their face.

This list is basically shot and would never do anything other than bounce along the bottom holding up the ladder in its present form.

We need genuine footballers who can play, pass the ball accurately by foot and hand and who can take overhead marks, stick tackles, keep their feet, run like hell both ways and finish off good work up the ground by hitting targets/goals. We also need some mongrel/animals in the team. Other than Viney/N Jones, i can't think of any i would take with me into the trenches from this lot who can also play.

At present we have very few real AFL footballers. For the club to become competitive once more, Roos now needs to completely rebuild this list (outside of the core 6 to 8) from scratch.

Wake me up in 3 to 5 years or more once we've won our first "3 games in a row" against quality opposition (which will be post Roos). For only then will we know "something" is finally "in the air". That's if i'm still alive and kicking by the time that happens.

Those who still think otherwise.... well.... i feel sorry for ya. You're truly stuck in some sort of warped deluded world of the weird and wacky.
