I am surprised Saty hasn't come on yet to confirm that we are all bad supporters (except for him, he is the greatest supporter ever).

Posted

I am an extremely passion Dees supporter

We have not won at Etihad in donkeys years

Brisbane are at $2.12 to beat Melbourne

I am a gambling man

I just put $100 on Brisbane to beat Melbourne at $2.12 to pay out $212

If we lose, I win $112

If we win, I will be overjoyed at breaking our Etihad hoo-doo that I will not care about the $100

Am I a bad supporter?

(Have you ever done something similar?)

Dont think you are a bad supporter.

But just to make sure, send me 1,000 dollars and i will guarantee you will be always respected in the DEE community.

You're not a bad supporter. But you may very well be a bad gambler. Not because you might win your bet, but (Warning: moralistic advice follows) gambling should always be dispassionate. Once you allow passion to influence your gambling decisions, you reduce your ability to make sound betting decisions.

Which is why betting on Melbourne when it plays Collingwood will always give you better odds than the game deserves as the bookies lay off the Magpies. Pity Collingwood supporters actually don't have real money - then Melbourne's odds would be even longer.

Nothing bad about that.

I agree re the odds so you have made a good financial decsion based on the facts we know now.

And as you are prepared to lose and be happy the Dees won (if that happens) makes you a very good supporter.

Just give him a few weeks of Saty, Stuie, Ben Hur (where is he BTW?) and the assorted villains of Demonland BBO and he will learn. I used to come on here with pure motives as well you know.

I'd rather sit it out than have a collect against the boys. I couldn't enjoy a $115 collect knowing it had come at the cost of a Demon loss.

if only Frawley was as passionate as you... I would be more than happy to collect knowing the boys lost, I'm just not into gambling... Edited by tatu

Congrats on the collect - a smart financial decision.

You probably feel awful like I and no doubt many other fair dinkum Demons fans do - but at least you have got something out of the wreck. All I have got is the sickest feeling in my stomach - no doubt plenty of others feel the same.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
