GAME DAY - Round 18

Clearly you didn't see it properly. That was a definite squib.

Yeah, yeah. No worries.

I won't comment any further as I don't want the thread derailed by the usual slop.

Have a listen to you blokes. Watts can't win. Puts his head over the ball, rather than squibbing the contest, and he still cops crap. Stay classy guys.

Are you watching his game it seems not Nobody could sya that if they wereGeesus he is Weak

Blease not doing heaps just yet

You lot are unbelievable. That bump was poor technique. Didn't get low enough. But to say he didn't attack the contest... FMD

Gray plainly wanted the ball and the contact more. No surprise.

Not true - never put his head over it - just pirouetted into the pack with one hand up (as usual).

Look, I think this guy has great skills, and was stiff to be brought to a hopeless football department and made a sacrificial lamb on Queen's Birthday.

But - I would rather have two terlichs, or two mckenzie than one Watts. Plays nothing like 6'5" - so don't worry about the aerial stuff - has more skills than 10 of those, but will <never> give a contest like those two - and that's what we are all about the moment - tough footy - and Watts is just not tough enough (even for a flanker / outside mid)

No it wasn't, it was an effort from a player who has no idea in a contested situation. He needed to clean Grey up, not the other way around.

Nail head.no experience in putting body into contest and bracing feet.{should take up rooting and might learn to brace}

Kicking it to 5 port blokes... Fmd

Jack Watts

0 possessions

0 care for the jumper

0 pride

Must be traded at seasons end. I cant believe people defend this joke of a player

Give him a break he stayed loyal last year, he'll come good.

Umpires giving us an absolute bath, it's like we're playing a team of 22 joel selwoods at the minute.

This umpiring is an absolute disgrace!!!

Turning off now. Port won't beat us but the [censored] umpires will.

Would you say he had enough time to get in the right position?

Because if he did, which it looked like, then he didn't attack the contest 100%... that regardless of the fact he twisted out

You'd rather 2 Mckenzies who don't get their own ball and even if he does he can"t kick.

Geez Riley looks good, but my god the team is making some stupid decisions

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
