IF anyone ever took QB from us there should be an uproar. We have played on 55ish QB's since 1936 (when it became a PH) and on a number of "June public holiday Mondays" before it was called QB.

It is close to the oldest tradition in the AFL.

I'd happily play in the Sydney Melbourne GF match for exposure. But it would seem unfair to those clubs who have lobbied.

Showing my age but when I saw the title of this thread I thought it was promoting a game against Carlton. The joke at the time (1965) was that Barassi's move had made Melbourne Bitter and Carlton United.

Seems to me that the best scenario would be that the Dees vs Swans game alternate between Melbourne (MCG) and Sydney and that [on alternate years] the Western Bulldogs play Greater Western Sydney therefore ensuring that the fans of both cities get to see a Melb/Sydney rivalry 'home' game each year with no single team getting any specific advantage in the way of a permanent home advantage, gate takings etc.

This rivalry should have started years ago.

Melbourne people hate Sydney.

Sydney people hate Melbourne.

No...that rivalry all but disappeared years ago...the Qld v NSW rivalry leaves it for dead.
