WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

how long before his uncle is working out a way to get him to North Melbourne behind closed doors?

...about as long as Gunston's dad was trying to get his son to Essendon. The kid will have a mind of his own.

Reminded me of Jack T's highlights.

He'd be doing it in the open now. But his old man as (interim) head of the coaches association will probably prefer him to be at Melbourne at least for the next 2 years than at North. From then on its up to Goodwin to prove he's better than Brad Scott.

next they'll want to merge with us.

Brayshaw to play for MFC in 2015 $1.01 bet ... virtually assured IMO.

Are there betting lines for the draft? I did a scan of the major players and didn't find anything but I don't have an account.

Thems Black Caviar odds!

I presume this has already been uploaded, and I must say I take back what I said earlier.

Brayshaw has a lovely kick on him, seems to constantly hit his target. I won't be complaining come draft night if he's in the red and blue, actually if he's not I'll be extremely disappointed.

Edited by ignition.

As we are all raving about him and are divided about other pick is there a chance that Saints may pick him at one

None. Will be Petracca or McCartin.

Seemed like a [censored] on the daytona challenge vid

detest the idea

Round 20, 1991.

Mark Brayshaw played full back on Allen Jakovich for a lot of the day.

That's all you need to know.

Surprised I didn't remember - think I was at that game.

This might explain the nagging feeling I've been having about the Brayshaw name.

I've been trying really hard lately to convince myself that Angus was now worthy of our pick 2 or 3 and this info has completely shattered that idea - Even if it was his old man up against Jaka kicking snaps from outside 50 going through post high.

next they'll want to merge with us.

It'd be the only way we'll make the top 4 in the next 100 years

I can see Roos using him off half back next year if we pick him up. Vlastuin was impressive in his first two years in that role for Richmond. I think Brayshaw has the same strong body and combative approach that should allow him to survive from day one. His kicking is better than Vlastuin it seems and even though he would be a first year player, he may help alleviate a deficiency if he can give us that Malceski type player until he develops into Tyson's best mate in the middle.

So where do we hide Grimes? :P

It's becoming the elephant in the room isn't it?

I assume he'll "step down from the captaincy to concentrate on football" at some point during the off-season.

This will then allow Roos to drop him.

Once he learns that a boundary line is not in fact a player with a Melbourne guernsey, he'll be a good player.

He knows no boundaries.

I agree. From what I recall he looked slower than Jimmy Toumpas in his highlight package.

Was it just me or did those highlights seem to be played in slow motion/half pace?

I get frustrated with these highlight packages as they never seem to show much of general play contested footy stuff. Under no pressure he can kick it very well but remember most players take a fair while to learn to kick well at AFL level because they just don't have the time they did in junior footy.

He can take a good mark for his size but I can't get a handle on his lateral movement or speed, two things I think are critical. From all reports we'll take him and while I'll trust our recruiters I don't expect much the first year.

He's one of the few where I would expect decent performances in his first year. Big bodied contested ball winners usually make the transition a lot faster than most.

Angus at least has some meat on him. A decent preseason would embellish that also.

No more skinny kids

maybe one of the scarred individuals on our list

get that growth hormone into him, that'll put meat on his bones.

Angus certainly delivers the Sherrin very well by foot however as BB suggests we have little idea how he performs in close/under real pressure.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
