Not going to agree nor disagree with the names as suggested. They are after all an opinion and thats fine here.

What I would call into the realm of relevancy is this notion.

Look at our list.

Who on it would still have been drafted , and yes it calls for speculation , but we can fabricate possibly a mould for such , had they been done so with Roos and Viney in charge ?

By this I suggest looking at the nature of recent acquisitions and overlay this with the list.

Makes for an interesting excursion into the realm of WHY ? as in why are some on our list now

Calling a spade a shovell is only proper if indeed it is a shovell A shovell is different from a spade in that if its plate is held level it will hold water, if it does not, it is a spade.

Thus one should only declare a supposed spade to be a shovell only if indeed it is a shovell.

Whilst we are being pedantic, Shovell (capital S and a double l) was an 18th century British admiral. I am unaware of its use as a common noun.

A shovel is like a spade with upturned sides, or a curved surface from side to side. A spade generally has a flat plate as you suggest, and usually a sharper leading edge than a shovel.

Well PF, nice list of departures you have. put the shovel away before you dig yourself a bigger hole.

TMac is a stayer, so is Howie. Agree with you both have their faults. But to discard both would be a step backwards.

TMac does need to improve his disposal and decision making. He struggles in the air against a foward that gets more that 3ft off the ground. We need a Sean Wight type down back to help him out. Grimes is more a worry to me than Tmac, Grimes is slow, gets beaten in the air, and gives his opponents to much latitude. He needs to tighten up. Tall backs with some talent and the experience he has (only 22yrs old) dont grow on trees, and name a decent back that wants to get flogged week in week out thats willing to play for the MFC at this stage.

Howe needs to go back to the forward line, he has been exposed to not be willing to gut run. He also needs to show more than being able to fly for speccies. He will learn or he will be discarded or traded. But for now we dont have anyone better. I'm sure he would perform better with a successful club.

As for the rest on your list, you can throw in Jetta (although I thought didnt do much wrong against Sydney) but he is on the chopping block if he doesnt show a lot more. Big rucks are hard to come by, so Gawn stays, IF he stays fit for most of this year. I'm wearing thin seeing him on the injured list. M.King isnt ready

I rate King from the little I have seen of him, but he needs a few yrs at Casey.

WE can't lash everyone thats not up to it in one go, Roos, will know who is a stayer. Most on your list have shown next to nothing, until they are replaced with players better, we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. We arent a club players are falling over each other to get to. We need to draft and develop and when they develop hopefully they will replace the NQR's that are left on the list.

Are Mids have improved, from crap to 1/2 decent. Our forward line is bare, until they get a target up there, they are going to look bad. We need more run out of the backline, and players on the move when we have possession of the ball. At present most times they are flat footed and easy pickings to be tackled or under the pump. So hold off on a cull, until Roos sorts them out. But I';m looking at a eight off the list come the end of the year. Maybe more if trades come into it.

We've got a 6foot 5 bloke with exquisite skills and speed. he should be an answer to our fwd line issues yet the fact not one poster even considers it as an option is a blight on his performance and career to this date. He should at least be able to plug a gap yet up fwd yet in reality would only be a liability as the footy was run back out of the opponents back line. a shocking indictment on him

I have a lot of time for T.McD.

He does make mistakes, but he goes away and works on it.

His kicking has improved, but it can improve more.

His kicking on the run is low and straight.

The problem is when kicking over the mark.
