Yes, I agree with Biffen. Scorps to get up by 3 points.

Song, I always read your Jack Viney quote when you post. But if you replace Viney with Watts, it's entire meaning changes, doesn't it. Ok, I'm bored.

Just reporting what I'm seeing

No, you're interpreting what you're seeing.

BTW, seeing spelling has come to be part of the thread, its crapping. Two p's.

Relax bing!

with that score line and what WJ has said it soon fairly accurate to me.

Ughh....our only decent player with attacking flair/run off HB and he's out after his return game at Casey for a few minutes. Amazing....should i say it?

You think it's a fair observation?

To single out one particular player for harsh criticism in a side that got belted?

And all that without having even seen the match!

Madness.

Heard Garlands name in the call for the last couple of minutes of the game. So he must be ok.
Evidently MFC listed players pretty/very/extremely ordinary today. Callers said no forwards. So I expect a tall to be drafted this year - no doubt. Amazing pre season most were saying we were overloaded with tall forwards - what a difference a month makes.

WJ how has Gawn played and did Spencer play today?

Max did reasonably well in the ruck and around the ground. He dominated the hitouts although his onballers didn't really take advantage (except with the exception of McKenzie). He had 49 hit outs and 18 possessions according to the Scorpions Facebook page.

I can back up WJ on that one, Max was probably the best listed player in my eyes.

Started slowly but really worked into the game and was excellent in the ruck, which wasn't really capitalized on by the midfield.

Also thought Riley and Harmes tried hard without much return.

Overall no one grabbed the opportunity presenting itself which in itself was disappointing.

Most of Clisby and Riley's best work was done in the second half. They did very little in the first half.

Players such as Blease, Strauss and Tapscott have to do a lot of work to earn a game at any level above where they are at present.

Harmes was in and out of the game and was off with a finger injury a couple of times.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
