Viv Michie (broken jaw) - 4 to 6 weeks

Featured Replies

Was probably looking at a few weeks in the magoos anyhow. Not ideal but not disastrous.

I really like Michies Game, reads the play well and has good skills unlike some.

Great pickup by Demons.

We just can't seem to crack a decent run without injuries.

Stuff it all.

Poor bugger, it's not a massive set back but must still suck for someone that's such a wretched run with injuries. I think he has the potential to be a good pick up for us, I wish him all the best with his recovery.

He took longer than most of our recruits to suffer serious injury....three weeks!

Which recruit for Melb HASN'T been badly injured early in his career in recent decades?

Luckily he can still train at 100% in his lay off. Get better soon viv!

Good old MFC.

Game was played on Sunday and it took almost two days for the news of this latest injury to filter through which isn't bad because we have no idea why Strauss and Tapscott missed out last weekend.

Anyways, good luck to all injured Demons and Mitch Clark on his retirement.

Get a grip. Sunday jaw is sore. Still sore Monday morning. Scans arranged, perhaps late in the day for all we know. Announcement made on Tuesday. What more do you expect? X-rays on-line as soon as they are done perhaps.

And the good news just keeps coming fmd are we ever going to have a good run or WIN a game?

If karma is true we should win 4 premierships in a row to make up for all this stuff that has happened.

Maybe Karma aint true

But I do quote Newtons "immutable law" ( is it No 4)

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

There must be a lot of reaction coming

Precisely. If the jaw was shattered in to a million pieces you might expect a result sooner.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
