Daniel Cross.

Never rated him hugely; but what he has done in the 2 games that I have seen have been top class. Runs hard defensively and offensively; puts his body in harder than most.

My money is on him as early as round 2.

Not bad for a reject from another bottom dweller. Or is that an idictment on where our list is at?

He would be behind N Jones, D Tyson and B Vince ATM but not very far. The fact that we are wallowing even with midfielders dominating among our best players is indicative of the depth of problems caused by our current injury crisis among our taller players.

Battle between Jones and Tyson.
Jones must be happy to actually have some competition this year.
I really want Jones to win it, deserves to cement himself as an absolute Demon legend (if he already isn't). To stand up and be so consistently good for so long in a team so crap is truly amazing, and he is everything we want everyone else on our list to become.
Tyson will win one or two before his time is out, but this year give it to Jonesy again.

But [censored] me Tyson is good

I think it's not quite right to call him a reject. It's not like he wasn't good enough to play in their side. It is more that they have a stack of hard ball-winning mids who are younger than him and there are only so many you can fit in the team. Think of it more as a forced retirement rather than cutting a player they didn't want. They would have preferred to keep him on in a coaching support role, but he wanted to keep playing and we got lucky.

I actually reckon Lynden Dunn would be a smokey

The Bulldogs will regret turfing Cross in the same we we rue the day we turfed Junior McDonald

Cross was their heart and soul and was pushed out so kids could play more

i bet Doggies fans arent happy

Tyson

Vince

Cross

Dunn

Watts had a great first game and an average second game, still too early to tell, but i think he will make the top five or six by end of year.

Jon "Agro the puppet" Ralph puts Daniel Cross (HUN) in the top 3 free trades at the moment. I reckon Cross has been the best as we speak. Dal Santo is a receiver who has been up-and-down; while Chapman has been a good finisher. Thomas, Sylvia, and Franklin will get better, but Cross has been unbelievable.

If Chip plays as well for the rest of the season as he did on the weekend, surely he would be in with a chance. But my prediction is for N.Jones to go back to back to back.

If Chip plays like that for the rest of the year he'll kick 30 and we'll make the 8!

my money is still on Lynden Dunn

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
