Jack Trengove needs to find something fast, his speed is a concern, but he is no slower than Sam Mitchell, needs to work on becoming that type of player although i doubt he will ever be in that league.

Sam Mitchell has great lateral movement, one of the best in the league. And coupled with a great footy brain make him a great player. Unfortunately Jack just looks like a plodder. Not sure where it all went wrong to be honest.

Dawes and Hogan provide the bail-out kick option into our forward line, and although Dawes may not clunk many, he's at least going to bring it to ground and create a contest. Fitz and Pederson just get out-marked too easily.

Opposition teams can just kick to his opponent and know they will burn him off in space, he needs to be used as an inside mid or a forward and nothing else, which is a shame because during his first year i thought he would be an absolute superstar

I think we all did. But then again, that's been the case with so many of our players.

But that's the point - Fitz, Pedersen and Spencer are all on our list but are all not AFL-standard. They are the depth players but they are well into their careers now and aren't going anywhere in their development.

In terms of players today... Nathan Jones is an absolute warrior and definitely the most underrated and under appreciated player in the league.

Cross was great, Vince and Terlich solid but Tyson wasn't as impressive for me as most seem to think. He finds the ball easily but was pretty fumbly today and his disposal was questionable at times. Having said that, he'll be a great player for us.

Jack Trengove is summarised by the word 'plodder' and I don't know if he'll ever be more than that. His pace is frustrating and sometimes the way he goes about it makes me question his urgency.

Watts' career will be a rollercoaster of up and down games, excellent one week and bloody frustrating the next week.

Last week hurt more for me, probably because it was a game we really lost ourselves but I'm actually impressed with how quickly we've turned around our possession count and statistically, we were pretty even with them today... except on turnovers and probably efficiency.

Anyway, we have to win next week.

Does anyone know Trengove's draft camp stats? What was his 20m sprint time? That is the measure that often counts, its about acceleration and the first few steps, so often important in footy. I am thinking we looked at his beep test and how well he went over 100 metres and even then looked at how nice he was as compared to a couple of feral types in the mix.

It was at least refreshing to see Dunn genuinely upset at his post match chat with Burgs. I think that we need more of that kind of feeling to motivate some of the long time passengers to shape up or ship out. Players need to be setting realistic personal targets for their own performance not just to be working solely to Roos game plan.
