Mark Evans, AFL Footy manager and former Hawks official, should feel justified in refusing to give us another draft pick, as he said at the time that we didn't need one.

Wouldn't have made much difference today, but just saying.

I know its early but I think he will leave to chase finals. Don't blame him either

He is no doubt thinking how nice it will feel to be on the other end of this next year.

It will be a walk in the park for him against us due to our inability to put and keep forwards on the park.

So will every one of the 17 other sides in the AFL i'd suggest.

Sure. But Franklin was on good coin. If these basterds win back to back flags it would be a pretty easy sell.

I expected a bit of fight from our midfield today.

At least Roosy wasn't shown fools gold.

Toumpas or Wines anyone.

Some context Hawks NAB cup campaign

Rd 1 - Hawks 158 - Lions 23

Rd 2 - Hawks 118 - North 53

Prac - Hawks 142 - Melb 32

We have done better than Lions..

For what that's worth :(

I'm not going to get worked up over the score. It sucks, but all I want is for us to come out of the game with no injuries to key players.

Just got back from Casey Fields - had to leave early for my son's birthday. Quick jump onto Demonland for an update.

Getting absolutely monstered around the packs. Our stoppages seemed to be planned around stationary players getting th ball THEN spreading. Hawks have players running through the stoppage, getting the handball receive, and either running through or kicking through with ease.

Roos has talked a lot about 2 way running. Our defensive spread has been terrible. Midfield horrible today, probably with the exception of Trengove.

The inquiry above about Spencer: both Spencer and Pederson have not had a heap of the ball but they are chucking themselves in and at everything. Their physical presence has been impressive.

We have no forward line in place today. I don't know if it is something Roos is not focusing on, but time after time the ball goes in to our froward line in a Pagan's paddock manner, and it is 1 Dees player to 3 Hawks - over and over again.

Hawks field kicking is pure and perfect. I hate the modern day Hawks but their kicking is lime watching a very clean form of footy.

Glad I had my son's birthday to come home to!

I took my 2 and 4 year olds along today at 11 and they'd had enough at 11.30 so we left then. I may have been the real winner today.

I think I was, I arranged to take my grandson to the game tomorrow and only realised it was on today at about 12 so I had to tell him we couldn't go and I'd take him to the pictures tomorrow instead.

The tough on baller won his second Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy in a narrow battle with skipper Max Gawn and Alex Neal-Bullen and battled on manfully in the face of a number of injury niggles. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
