Aussie Wonaeamirri VFL push denied.

Hope its just a timing issue that he now wants to be back rather than a not wanting to be back at the Dees issue

Davey involvement?

You suspect? But his chances of ever playing AFL again must be close to zero.

He is out of contact but a transfer fee is enforceable?

The first time I've ever heard of that in Australian football.

First time I've ever heard of anything like that in any kind of sport or business. If he's out of contract he's a free agent to go wherever he wants surely.

Slightly AFL-centric p.o.v. there …. He's not contracted to an AFL club, but it doesn't mean that he hasn't been playing under another contract or set of rules/agreements. Which would appear to be the case here.

Clubs normally do this if the player being transferred owes money to the club he's leaving. Not saying this happened but have seen it many times in different leagues.

Recently watched Aussie's last quarter performance in our big comeback win over the Dockers. He was superb.

Transfer fee would be set based on market value of the player.

He probably attracts a few people through the gates so his NT is seeking compensation. Standard, really.

It was brilliant, the vision of Jim Stynes hugging his dad is something I'll never forget also.

If Wonna was serious about getting to the VFL to enable him to restart his AFL Career he'd pay the $10k himself...

"A livewire forward who was restricted by injury, he kicked 37 goals in 31 games before he was delisted at the end of the 2011 season, returning to the Northern Territory where he signed with the Thunder."

Should read -

'returned to Tiwi after his father's death. Didn't return & was subsequently delisted.'

Hate these inaccurate hacks.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

He actually did return and injured his ankle on comeback with Casey reserves. Had surgery and then returned to the NT.

I stand corrected.

And then didn't come back & was subsequently delisted.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
