How much should we offer Scott Pendlebury next year?

I think we offer him a three year deal and offer up more money than the pies IF we make the eight next year ( or go close to it) and offer him the captaincy

And then when Ollie Wines is out of contract offer him more than Port have put to the table, giving him the chance to come home and more money

Why don't we try getting someone a little more realistic.. Bryce Gibbs.. Out of contract free agent.

I remember watching his father play, Ross Gibbs (3) WPFC, I must be getting old!

I've been ratting my brain trying to remember, because it was literally like 2 days after the AFL draft combine last year.

It was more than likely total bulldust, but I guess we'll soon find out come end of next year.

Ollie has been said to be pretty loyal and would like to repay Power for their faith. He wants to make his own history rather then follow Viney around.

Doubt that has changed.

Even if all our young mids come through in the next couple of years,we still won't have anyone with the class of Scott Pendlebury.

I think we should offer him a $9 million / 7 year deal with the Captaincy as a sweetener.

We need a Marquee player at the Dees and just his coaching of our young mids would be priceless.

C'mon Melbourne, pull of a ruthless deal for once!

you have obvoisly forgotten the diamond tilbrook coup Edited by jazza

Asked his manager on draft day "what do I do now?" after being drafted, in reference to playing in Victoria. Manager told him in 2 years he can go wherever he wants..

Not signing a contract extension for a reported 400k definitely makes you wonder what he's thinking??.. I hope he comes to the Demons, but I think he is to loyal and will stay with port.

Very respectable young man...

I'm not sure about the length, but I think whatever is left after we match Frawley's FA offer and secure Hogan should be used to lure someone really good, be it Pendlebury or another top-line mid. We should have plenty of cash available for these goals given the current state of our list.

Come on Melbourne!

Lets do something stupid and ruthless!

Lets mortgage our future as a club with one idiotic deal!

Come on!

Are you serious?

We're mortgaging our future by paying $1M+ a year for spuds like Jordie,Tappy,Bail and Jetta and getting no return year after year!!! Get rid of those 4 hacks and lure a superstar mid for the same $$$

You'd be the first to Wee your pants if we got Pendlebury

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
